hope you do well inshaAllah.. i personally found it hard to study/focus for the last exam b/c the weather was unbelievely great..iTHEN it felt like a bad idea to confine myself into the indoors. so i practically studied outside..(or tried
either way, just knowing that you've few more days to go..should be enuff to motivate you to keep studying..and on the bright side, u'll have rest of summer to chill. iA.
so study hard.
how was urs?
NYC has a good mix, so it comes in handy. I found myself, at times, translating for people at the hospital.
I speak Bengali with my parents and relatives, namely sylheti. I can speak shuddo, but my writing and reading is very limited. It's on the level of a 1st or 2nd grader.
It's great that you know how to read and write standard Bangla. It'll come in handy every now and then.
check out the thread again, i've posted some more nasheeds
It seems you were about the same age as me when I came to the States. How's your Bangla then?
Yeah, I stopped making excuses for BD a long time ago. My usual defense was, "Well, the country is fairly young, it'll get there soon, Insh'Allah." I hear it's getting a little better with time though, the new gov't made some positive changes. It's definitely not a safe, convenient, or even respectful place for women, I noticed that last time.
Ah, I see. I just presumed it was an annual event. Waves is doing fine, Alhamdulilah. Have you ever been BD? Last time I went was in the year '05. I stayed at my nanu's place, which is in the suburbs. It was nice and quiet. Went on a road trip as well and was able to spend quality time with family/relatives while appreciating the beautiful sceneries.
Oh yeah, I've heard about the camp a while ago. Thought it sounded pretty interesting. Still does. Do you guys go every year?
A trip abroad sounds perfect, especially when you live in a city. It can get pretty suffocating at times lol. So, have fun, Insh'Allah. That's cute having your little bro plan the trip.
My plans for summer, at the moment there aren't any specifics. I'm waiting to hear from 2 that I applied to. Would love to take a trip to BD to visit my sick nanu and see all my relatives. It's not possible though, at least not this year.
Yes, I am a firm believer of "everything happens for a reason", Alhamdulilah. I believe something good will come about from this in due time, Insh'Allah!
Got any plans for the summer?
Stuck as in post graduation and pre-employment. Hmm... help, just keep me in your duas if possible.
Ah, stressful exam days. If you study, insh'Allah, you will do well. I remember you're one of the smarter ones, mash'Allah.
