reminders to self (n my thoughts of the day copied from the fph thread... cuz i'm lazy n in the mood for spamming!)

* making and keeping things simple definitely helps, alhumdulillah.
* it's still backbiting/slander if you're not mouthing it but typing it instead.
* and it's still backbiting/slander if it's about your parents, siblings, inlaws, friends, neighbors, roomies, coworkers... bottomline if they're not face-to-face with you while you're expressing something not-so-good about them, it's not right.
* if you must say/type something, try to be non-specific and be like "it sucks when some people behave like blah blah blah... etc.
* ultimately, everything happens because Allah (swt) wills it to happen... so turn to Him (inwards) instead of turing to/on people (outwards) unless you trust yourself not to trespass limits set by Him.
* it's ours to give people the benefit of the doubt, it's His to judge them.
* try to be more than your ego. people are people and will continue to be themselves. you can't change them... at least not quick enough for your liking. but you can change yourself, for the better, kinder, more patient... quicker than you think possible.
* when in doubt, take a deep breath and think beyond life and this world. think how relatively small a price to pay for a heavenly afterlife, inshaAllah.

so i've decided that i don't like traffic, and the stairs at work.
or perhaps i should say that it sucks how some cars (and drivers) behave on the road and how some stairs behave in ways that make your legs ache n make your RLS worse . and i can't take my advil PM cuz i don't have 8 hours unless i'm taking the week off. the rest of the time, i try for 4 hours before fajr and 4 hours after with dream/nightmare-infested sleep (hi zzze ). n that reminds me:

* if i ever run into the sandman, i'm gonna beat him up with my swiffer sweeper AND the toilet brush!

cuz i find it kinda ironic when in a DREAM you're telling someone that you might've IMAGINED the evil people lurking in your dark heavily-wooded backyard WHILE they're leering at you through the window.

so today my phone died in mid conversation and that hasnt happened in a long long time so i had to talk while charging it and i couldnt stop thinking about that stupid forward email. you know, the one about how you can die while talking on a charging phone
