so with the immigrants having prejudices against blacks, and then black nationalism on the rise among the sunni muslim blacks...............

what would happen when white muslim population reaches the numbers desi/arabs/blacks have

for some reason i sense a resurfacing of the white/black clashes taking place within the muslim community

I don't think so. For one, black and white muslims would probably share a lot of the same western cultural ideals.
Second, racism/nationalism is rejected in Islam. Not saying that there won't be any race issues, but I think a great deal of tension between the two communities would be reduced.

I can't tell if you're being completely serious in this thread or if you are partially joking.

But I agree. There's not much ethnic tension coming from the white side. In addition to the reasons Chotoo gives, there tend to not be many "white" (American) Muslims so we hang out with mostly non-whites. One of the easiest ways to reduce racial or ethnic tension is for groups to mix casually where they can see their similarities, rather than differences. Whereas it's more possible for homogeneous groups of blacks, desis, arabs, etc. Further, the youth, which make up so much of the American Muslim community, tend to not be as racial or racist as previous generations.

Most white converts marry muslims of color, thus having little biracial muslim children. So there aren't going to be a lot of white muslim children being born into a position of privilage.

However, I am looking forward to the day that I can bring "american" food to the potluck and not be looked at ascance. I did ok with a zucchini lentil soup a few months back, but it was approached with caution.

desis and arabs are isolationists, they probably wont play any part in it, they'll just stay at their own mosques like they do now

7th century TRIBAL arabia isn't quite the same as the modern day globalized melting pot that north america is. The level of asabiya in tight knit, tribal communities is obviously going to be far greater. Even a few centuries after that time period, multiculturalism worked relatively well in several muslim civilizations. Case in point - the ottomans. The entire ottoman empire at one point was being run by a serb. I'm not saying it was utopian kumbaya tension free, and if that's what you're seeking, yes you'll be disappointed. But present day circumstances don't particularly lend themselves IMO to heightened racial tensions.

Those are just ideals and theory so sometimes they are not practiced or implemented.

I noticed that there is some sense of snobbiness by white muslim converts ("Hey I'm the tallest person in the local mosque" or "All the muslim men want my number for nikkah"). I've heard quite a few think of themselves highly because they are white and muslim converts. Some mention how they are more desirable marriage wise.. even though some of them are like bottom of the barrel white folks (umemployed hippies, trailer trash, etc). So in other words, most white muslim converts are not like high ranking CEO-types in a suit or super runway models.

at the notion that desis and arabs, 2 of the most racist groups of people on the PLANET, will tell white and black people to get over it. If anything, they will take the side of the whites against the blacks. That may be politically incorrect to say, but its the truth. And please, spare me the "I know a black person and a white person who are married" or "I know a desi family who likes black people". Exceptions do not make the majority.

Oh and also, what's the difference between a runway model and a "super" runway model? I want to know which one I should classify myself as, since I'm a snobby white convert and all .
