Women are a fitnah, just as is power, money, life, and other things. The word fitnah has many, many different nuanced levels of meaning and if you have a problem with accepting women as fitnah, then just go crawl into a corner and die.

a) You acknowledge such men exist

b) You believe that Sunni men think like that

c) Sunnis are by far the majority of the Muslim Ummah. There are at least 1 billion Sunnis in this world.

No, there are sincere Sunni Muslims who simply wish to follow the right path, though they acknowledge there are many unacceptable teachings. They disregard these without going openly against it. They pray, fast and pay the charity and all the obligatory duties and want to lead a life on the right path. They have a stronger adherance to the conscience, the inspiration of Allah and can often sift out what to take and not to take using it.

Then there are the strong ones who are heavily influenced by the nuts and crannies and who spend all their lives absorbing whatever detail they could find in Sunni sources including every nerration good and bad cited in the name of religion - and their mindset is built from it. Though sincerity may be there, they trod a path that is often not in conformity with Qur'anic morality and since they dont have this important criterion of the Qur'an to judge, they simply become whatever their sources of religion makes them be.

So did you go out and take a survey as to which Sunni Muslim men see things this way & which ones don't?

Also, do you think the only good Sunni is a Sunni who ignores his own religion?


Finally, do you think the hadith on gheerah

a) contradict the Qur'anic affirmation of the Prophet (SAW)'s gheerah
b) support the Qur'anic affirmation of the Prophet (SAW)'s ghereah

And what is your reason for believing they are invalid? What criteria are you using for 'good' and 'bad?'

You admitted that such men exist by saying that some Sunni men are like that. That in and of itself justifies the hijab (i.e. your admitting that some guys are like that).
