She just once again peed on the living room floor and when I went to take her to the kitty litter [it's in my bedroom, gross I know but she needs her food/bed/litter in one compound area for now] she goes and jumps out of the kitty litter, runs into the hallway and sits in the corner wall. I grab her up to bring her back to the kitty litter and right before my eyes she decides that in midair is the perfect time to doodoo on herself. It got on my bedroom floor. Ahhhhh.

How To Train a Kitten to the Litterbox

you should probably keep the box in the bathroom for now. and she shouldn't have free run all over your place until she's trained.

fortunately, my kitty learned the ways of the box from his mama cat before I got him.

Hahaha, she got her forest hair from her Hispanic daddy.

displaced, yeah I called the adoption place today. They advised that I keep her in a dog cage for a couple weeks. I'm not oki with that, so I'm just going to build her a smaller compound in my bedroom with boxes from my job. One box will hold her blankets/pillows, another toys [I'll have some hanging], another holding her food, and another with the litter box. I'll take pictures.

She tried running today!! She was soo cute! She was able to fully stand and run for a short distance! Yay!

make sure the litter is quite some distance away from her sleeping basket and food tray/whatever its kept in.

cats are quite fussy yet clean, they dont go toilet in a place that they know is or near a safe place ie a sleeping or eating place, once she understands the whole area/certain rooms are safe places she wont use them as one big toilet lol.

what id suggest for now is that u leave cat biscuits or dried catfood in various areas, except anywhere near her litter tray. she'll eat them and it'll register that she shouldnt use those spots as toilet spots. Because cats have good noses, the light lingering smell of the biscuits after shes eaten them will be enough to remind her that thats an 'eating place' not a vacant place to go potty in.

try to really ge rid of the smell of the er cat poorp from thatarea, becuase if she can still smell it, she'll carry on using as a toilet.

cats hate zesty smells, anything that smells like that will make her stay away from that area.

pathani, thanks for the tips! She's still almost a newborn though, maybe 6weeks?, so for the time being all of her necessities have to be in close quarters. InshaAllah in a couple months, I totally plan on using some of your tips to teach her how to use the litter once it gets moved way from her.

Today was my first time being hours away from her. I missed her.

I came home, walked into my bedroom, and as soon as she saw me she started purring.

I think it's love.

Aww, that kitten is adorable.

What Spice said is actually true though - cats are only cute as long as they're small. Adult cats are selfish and boring and just not as cute. That said, may your kitten flourish in health and cuteness for a long time.

edit: get an orange-scented spray; cats don't like that. Spray it anywhere you don't want her to go, she should stay away from those places then.

my cat is still cute. and kittens are a handful, when mine was a kitten he'd swing from my curtains and jump from the bed to my desk OVER MY HEAD. I'm happier now that he's older and doesn't pull that. he's still playful, though.
