2 Blind sisters need help.
asalaamu alaikum wa rahmetullahi wa barakatuh,
Quote:
As salam alaikum wa Rahmat Allah wa Barakatuh
My name is Mohamed-Umer Esmail and I am the Imam & Director of the N Austin Muslim Community Center located on 11900 N Lamar Blvd TX 78753.
In our community, we have two blind American reverted Muslim sisters who are facing a homelessness crisis. Their crisis has been explained by one of them below. I personally know these two blind Muslim Sisters and have counseled them in the past. One of them has attended some of my classes as well. The other one is currently 71/2 months pregnant without any support from her husband who is overseas.
They have narrated to me some of their reversion to Islam experiences with family and friends, and believe me it was heartbreaking.
To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time they have sought financial assistance, and what they need is funds for seeking legal help, otherwise they will become homeless.
I urge all community members whether of Austin or nationwide to help these Sisters in whatever manner possible. The following are donation options:
1. You may give cash directly to her for those of you who know her.
2. You may give cash through me. Only do this if you have full trust in me.
3. You may send her a check at:
Heather Albright
8702 Stillwood Lane
Austin, TX 78757
4. You may pay through PayPal to my account at umeresmail@yahoo.ca. Again only do this if you have full trust in me.
5. I have set up a webpage for her at http://www.easysponsorship.com/sponsor/ume...il/blindsisters
You may donate through this website, but they will charge you a fee for it.
Also keep track of the amount you have given, and keep in mind that the donations are for legal aid expenses only to keep them from becoming homeless. Sister Heather mentioned that she receives sufficient funds from the government for her day to day needs. Zakat may also be given to her as her debts for legal aid have exceeded her zakatable assets.
You may contact me for further inquiries at:

Jazak Allah khair, May Allah reward you. Thank you.
Bismillah.
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmat Allahi wa barakatuhu.
I hope this finds everyone well insha'allah.
I am writing to ask my brothers and sisters in Islam to help in an urgent matter.
I am currently living with Sister Heather, who is a good friend of mine. We are about to be evicted from her house because Her parents fraudulently took the house that was paid for by a settlement that she got due to malpractice on the part of the hospital. The settlement was given to her because the doctors at the hospital caused her blindness after she was born.
Sister Heather's parents took the house fraudulently by saying that they would give her the full market value of the house. However, when she signed the papers to transfer the title to her parents, they then told her that they could not pay the full market value, but would buy her another place to live after she graduated from college. This never occurred after she graduated, and her parents never gave her anything in return for the house.
There was a trial in civil court over this matter. Her and her mother went to court to get the house returned to Heather. Heather was awarded a settlement; however, due to malpractice on the part of Heather's attorney, the proper paperwork was not filed. Also, Heather's attorney did not speak out for Heather's interests during the trial. Therefore, Heather's attorney did not file the proper paperwork to return the house to Heather. Moreover, Heather's attorney did not speak out for Heather's right to have the house returned to her. Heather's attorney said that the house should be sold so that she could get payment for legal fees incurred by taking Heather's case and representing her.
At this point, we have less than 90 days to leave the house. This is not a good thing because we are both blind. Also, I am 7 and a half months pregnant, and we cannot be homeless at this point.
I would like to know if anyone who is an attorney would be able to file the necessary paperwork on behalf of Heather so that she can get the house returned to her. If not, I would like to know if someone could give us advice on what Heather should do next.
Jazak Allahu khairon.
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmat Allahu wa barakatuhu.
