Default To the married folks:

asalaamualeykum

Now that you're married and living together, How important are looks to you of your spouse NOW compared to when you were single? Rate them out of 10.

My older married brothers tell me to compromise on looks so long as the girl is in shape and concentrate more on her faith and commitment to her husband and family. Because looks ain't gonna help if there's no food on the table when you come back from work.

I think looks that appeal to you should factor into the equation. Of course, try to compromise a little bit, like dont obsess about silly things like weight or pimples. I have a family friend who married a sister who was very into the Deen, but he just wasnt attracted to her. It was very sad, and I felt bad for her, because who wants to be married to someone who doesnt find you attractive. She was also very career oriented, which he wanted at first, but then she was the one coming home late, with dinner not ready, house not tidy, not living up to wife duties, etc. It did take a toll on thier marriage, to the point that they ended up getting divorced two years later. He ended up marrying a not so career oriented girl, and who he was attracted to, and is much happier now.

I think I'd rather be attracted to my wife, and worry about my own dinner - than the other way around. But that's just me

In science, when you're recording data, the signal to noise ratio of the instrument is very important. When it comes to teh wiminz, the hotness to crazy ratio is even more crucial. Only crazy wiminz don't cook for their hubbys . Mark her hotness and craziness on a scale of one to ten, and then give her a score (Example: R = H/C = 10/1 = 10 = )

If you are waiting for a women with a 10/1 ratio like that, then you are going to be the 45 year old virgin

In simple words he's saying:

What's more important once you are married, the looks or other things, like the wife being able to look after the home and being committed to her religion. Because his brothers told him don't worry about the looks too much, focus on other things, because even if she is pretty, if she doesn't pass in other areas, then whats the point.

HOWEVER, his question is targeted at married people and he is asking them if looks are still important, if so, how important, on a scale of 1-10.

To me the questions a bit weird too. It sounds a bit like Rambo lol.

If you're ugly enough to be asking this question on a public forum, your looks aren't going to grow on her. Better to give up now while your brain is still pliable enough for therapy to help you. [/burn]

umm... I'm white. It doesn't matter how hideous my features may be, or how grotesquely fat, I'll still be better looking than you.
