Men are soft, fragile creatures and there's a lot of bad people in the world, so no they should not be allowed to travel on their own. If it's to go to the store to buy some milk or to drop the kids off at school, then okay, but a cruise to Hawaii, nuh uh.

When flying alone, my husband always gets pulled aside for "special screening" but he doesn't if we're together (and I rarely do). When he was interviewing for fellowships, I was kind of nervous for him to be flying alone (lots of last-minute tickets and such).

I told my wife I was going out for some juice once. They found me five months later wandering aimlessly in Bahrain. I had no idea how I got there.

So my answer would be no.
