Default Rulings of Separation/ Divorce in Islam

I was trying to find info about this, but didnt have much luck, so Im hoping one of you have come across a really good site or know rulings on such matter. I would like to see all the rulings in the matter of separation but I have particular thing I want to know. I know that if one seeks divorce, theres this like trail stage of three months where the couple try to reconcile but its like separation, anyways are they allowed to have sex during that time?
I know they are not officially divorced but they are separated so do they still that right?

I don't think Sunni Path is that good for this topic, in my opinion.

Go to Islam-qa for this.
