I would never break off any engagement with Girl X in favor of Girl Y. That should have been clear enough from my previous posts so I'm curious as to why you're even asking me such a question.
The only time I'd break off an engagement with Girl X is there were clearly some deal-breakers front and center. Then I'd give myself a detox period before resuming the search.
But I rmbr you saying summin along the lines of how the search is not over if u become engaged with one girl.. so if its not over, what would stop you from dropping one fiancee for another?

I don't think there are any pros of being engaged because you aren't married in Islam so need mahrem with you... But there are pros of being nikkahfied but not living with each other yet like going on halaal dates
