Or maybe a bunch of sparks, really, really bright sparks that're blinding for as long as they last. You think he's love, heaven, and doves, and in the heat of the moment you go home and tell your mom you want to marry him and your mom looks at you like "WTH", but because youre so in love you end up marrying the dude before the season is over. but when the sparks die 10 years later and you see the other for what he really looks like you bring out the velan and wait for him at the door and before hes stepped inside you get all housewife ninja on him "WTH, UR SO UGLY, HOWD I MARRY UUU?!?!?!" and then you do a nice, clean power bomb on his face and run away with his money.

Well when i met the person I want to marry (im not married), you don't need to lower your gaze anymore, because you don't want to look at anyone else anyways, and then you can etch every living memory of them in your head as if it was shot onto a smooth granite wall with atomic precision laser beams....well thats what I think anyways, but then again I make whooshing noises while battling invisible droids with my broomsitck/lightsaber....

I don't think that really happens very often. The walking on clouds and the doves and all that.
I think you have to think about,
"could I spend my life with this person?" - do they have a personality you could get on with
"Does he/she look nice to me" - do you find them attractive or nice-looking
"do they have similar views" - do they have similar values is more useful, because you might have differences of opinions on different topics, but is the underlying value system similar?

You might not feel all these sparks, but people become more attractive the more you get to know them. Think of good friends you have, I bet they seem more pretty or handsome the more you got to know them, no matter what they look like.

I felt great, because I pretty much knew right off the bat. She didn't like me at all though.

I was kind of sad because she hated me at first. I was smoking back then and some ash got all over her in a gust of wind.

We were going to a Poison concert with some friends and got a drink at the gas station on the way over... Definitely spilled some on her too.

I didn't make a very good first impression.

Hmmm... what did I feel.

I met my husband when he came and talked to me in my office. I didn't feel much of anything. I met him a second time with his more handsome friend at the library. My thoughts and feelings at that meeting were "Well, his friend is much better looking, but boy he looks like trouble."

if you get the "that boy ain't right" feeling, run away.
if you don't feel anything at all, meh, go for it.

to tell you the truth. that stuff is bs. if love happens, it happens through conversation. there is no such thing as love at first sight. if somebody falls in love at first sight, that love is bound to fail.
