my husband and I actually got a tomogachi after we were nikkahed. Hubby was extremely bitter because it died on him after 3 days of beautiful stay-at-home dad parenting.

Actually faced this situation with a prospect last year. This was one of the deal-breakers on my side - I wanted to at least try to have my own and adopt otherwise. He was open to adoption but didn't want his own. If he'd been unable to have his own children, I might have been able to live with it, but he just didn't want them for other reasons.
The deal-breaker for him was that I really need flexibility on where to live.
