Would you marry someone if they had the same first name as your brother/sister?
I don't know if this topic has been discussed?
Would you marry someone if they had the same first name as your brother/sister?
Wouldn't that feel kind of weird?

I know someone who did that. I think now the family calls the sister some nickname now (like Chotu or something I forget).

I know a few people who did this. It's weird for sure...but I think if she's hot enough?

my dad, brother, and brother in law all have the same name. so yeah, that would be a little weird if i married a guy with that same name. although we call my brother by a nickname and i call my dad baba...so i guess its not as weird as it could be.

Re: Would you marry someone if they had the same first name as your brother/sister?
Yeah it would feel slightly weird but if she had the right stuff, yeah I'd marry her.
Basically all her positives would totally outweigh the weirdness of the fact that her name was the same as one of my sisters. Besides, my youngest sister, I usually call her by a nickname, and as for my wife I'd probably call her jaanu or habeabie more often than her real name, so ...

Honestly, I think people have enough trouble finding suitable spouses without making up criteria to turn them down!

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. It's impossible finding a match, so to refuse her just based on her name is stupid.

My brother's future wife has the same name as me. I think it's weird but she's hot mA so im assuming that's why hes going through with it.

I guess you can always change her name
like Brian Williams what did when he became the infamous "Bison Dele"

yeah I'd feel kinda weird if her name was "Hamza".
maybe that's just me being superficial...

i dont see why its weird.
my dad's name is mohammad and my brothers is ahmad. i am most likely going to marry an arab, and like 80% of arabs are named either mohammad or ahmad. lol. so basically its expected.

dude it definitely is weird. Like could you imagine if Luke ended up marrying a girl named "Leia" in Star Wars?
I shudder at the possibility

I think you need to have some possible women to marry before you start worrying about their names
