So I was wonderfooling... would having a wife already, be deemed bad if someone matches all the points in your "good" list?

For me:

Good: Super deeni, and if she could occassionaly slow dance for (or with) her husband at the right time and place (read, an intimate moment that is fitting), that would be awesome.

Bad: Having fun chit chat with guys without any business need, abusive langauge, opinionated to the bone.

That said, I dont think there is anything strikingly bad with most of the muslimahs out there, unless they are really spoilt or outright rude. And I still believe that people can be changed with love and care.

Good: speaks when spoken to, wears an apron around the house, cooks and does housework. Preferably takes over task of child bearing if scientific research is successful

I understand what you're saying...but I think you have a negative impression of ''religious'' guys. If I am not mistaken, your view on religious guys equate to "big bearded preacher, talks about islam 24*7 and nothing else, imposes his views on others, treats women as his property, etc." the archtypical bearded monsterous men we see on tvs chanting anti-american/anti-isreal slongans.

But thats not exactly the word 'religious' entails in true sense of the word. It means someone with a transformed heart with love of Allah. He leads by example, not force. He imposes Islam on himself, not others. hes neither proud nor boastful, but gentle and well mannered. he cares about others more than he cares about himself. As Maulana Rumi once said, "divine love transforms silver into gold", so people who went through such a transformation have become religious in true sense of the word. and when you meet such people and spend some time with them, you fall in love with their personality regardless of your level of relgiousness.

When my wife shows my pic to her friends, they are like "he's a typical molvi/mulla". Add bombard her with questions like:

1] Does he let you go out
1] Does he allow you to go to your mothers house.
1] Does he laugh with you.
1] Are you sure he does not eat babies... (okay I made this one up)

And it really makes me worried about these stereotypes and the divide in our ummah. Thanks Allah that He made me strong enough not to take such remarks to heart, but their frequency is alarming.

And when wifey answers their questions and tries to tell them how mashaAllah our relationship is, they dont fully believe her even.

But yeah, her remarks are understandable.
