no. I'll be honest: I'd rather be dominated than dominate.

Re: Girls: Would you marry a shy guy?
Probably not. I'm pretty extroverted and so, I don't think that'd be the right kind of guy for me. But Allahu Alim...

Re: Girls: Would you marry a shy guy?
My husband is socially shy and also very private. I am neither. But I think it's cute that he's socially shy and very private because only I know what he's really like...and that makes me feel special.

Re: Girls: Would you marry a shy guy?
Ok, another scenario:
what if the guy is too shy of a type and he feels intimated in asking for your hand directly.
So, he asks his friend to propose to your friend on his behalf to propose to you!
omg that would be so confusing, image the telephone game affect, where the final recipent hears something totally different.
any tips on how to deal with shy people?

Well... I think I'm the kind of guy you're talking about. Sort of anyway, I'm not 'shy' in any sense in every day life, and I'm not too shy to even tell a girl I like her. I just become a bumbling idiot when I do. However, after enough time (which isn't so long) of talking to her (after she knows I like her), all that nervousness goes away and it's cool.
So if there's some dude you like, my advice would be to talk for a bit and see if he opens up. And then if he does, good, if not, maybe he's not the one for you.

Re: Girls: Would you marry a shy guy?
I'm an introvert myself I think shy guys are cool. but it depends on what he's shy with(i.e. you really don't want to be shy at a job interview) but if he's shy with girls that's not necessarily a bad thing...

so i gather u are not shy, u are coy?
I KID.
Lol. me? im non-typical girl, usually im outspoken but when it comes to boys. im totally a dumbo-bee, but i guess today's modern society may have high expectation for western woman. but my culture still glorifies my inability to carry out a conversation with a boy as a socially desirable attribute however boys may not be at same advantage though! I always heard my parents asking my brother to be more "assertive" when it comes to expressing his emotions.

Shy is cute and all but no. I don't want to have to do any legwork or be the pursuer

Why not? Man hunting might actually turn out to be fun
You could follow Jinnzaman's idea of shooting an arrow in the mens section of the masjid and seeing who it hits
