I am gonna throw some of my opinions here, if you get hurt/offended .please let me know for this not the sole purpose of this thread.

I often hear 'desi guys' saying, "i am gonna marry any good muslimah with proper character, ahlaq, beauty etc. deen is the important factor and culture stuff doesnt matter to me". Then you find him citing the ayah of the Quran which means "we have made you into different nations you get to know eachother" etc..

moreover, I rarely hear same response from the ladies. i often find them 'more opportunistic type' they don't go too out of their way to find 'the one'.they're often too reluctant to look beyond their circle out of fear? b/c its not cultural norms? was that a gross generalization or expressed with some grain of truth?

props to be you for being a sharif bachi. ive seen girls go all insane if their parents rejected a rishta for reasons like 'he was a jatt' and 'we are rajput' or watevaaaa i dont know exactly what these categories mean, but i remember one of my desi friends went through that stage. she is still bitter, single, and old..

SubhanAllah, I'm not anything of the sort.

Anyway, my family is Jatt too. We usually dont marry outside of our people, and I'm quite sure my parents would prefer a Jatt for me.
(heh, I wouldnt mind a nice, big Jatt man though. )

But I'm sure they wouldnt reject someone for that reason only, they arent that bad, alhamdulilah.

i was not implying 'consent' as in marrying out of their consent, i meant marrying out of their khushi type.

NO, i lied. sorry. the double standard is quite clear in your post, whereas if you ever fell head over heels for a non-desi muslimah, you might approve your devotion to hot chicks, but if it was your close female relatives, then taking the same action in the similar context will make her stupid. wow.
