Would you ever consider marrying someone from same profession as yourself?
Asalaamu alykum,
Would you say this might give the martial relationship a competitive edge? Or perhaps they'll find it comforting to know their significant other will always be there as a mentor, colleague and a teacher?

No, I would not consider marrying another housewife or mother (to be).
Well, maybe if they had a midwifery certification.

But kids need fatherly love too. So are you suggesting polygyny?

I have a med student friend who said he'd never marry a med student cos he couldnt bare the thought of his wife's finger in somebody's anus. Is it cos of that you wouldn't marry another med student?

fiance and I are in the same profession. I like being able to call him up and ask questions.
I also like the idea of working together and never doing removable partials or crown and bridge work again. he likes the idea of never treating kids or denture patients or perio work.

i corrected your comment but no thats not the reason.
The reason is that doctor girls have worked extremely hard for many years to earn the right to have a great career in a great field, but that requires a major commitment in terms of time and attention which will undoubtedly diminish the amount of both that she can devote to being a wife and more importantly a mom.
Plus she might be making more money than me

Re: Would you ever consider marrying someone from same profession as yourself?
Tough question, really depends on the career? In my field I high doubt I will find someone i'd marry, cuz they just don't exist, i'm pretty sure. But lets just say I do, i wouldn't mind having a working wife let alone one who has the same field as me, would be a good thing actually, share ideas

Re: Would you ever consider marrying someone from same profession as yourself?
I wouldn't dismiss someone because he was a doctor, that would be dumb. However, I wouldn't want to be married to someone in the same field or at the same hospital as me. If anything goes wrong, would you really want to be running into a former spouse at professional meetings or at work?
