actually the majority of isrealis are arab jews, not europeans. you can keep on saying all you want about 'depends on who you talk to', but hinduism is just merely a religion in a region that has had religions long before that one. not to mention, unlike judaism, its not an organized religion. did you know that the idols worshipped by north indian hindus are the demons of the south indian hindus, and vice versa? so how can it be an 'ethnicity'? the only people who say this, are the hindu fanatics who are trying to claim that only a hindu can be an indian, when we all know this isnt true at all.

Something like over 50% of JEws in Israel are Sabra's however datiing from the formation of Israel as a state that could mean anyone who was born after the 1947 formation. A Sabra is some born in Israel. Personally I don't see any religious affiliation as an ethnicity, if that were the case id be Anglican ethnically which is stupid.

uh no, about 60% of jews in isreal are ethnically of arab descent. they hail from iraq, morroco, yemen etc. racially and ethincally they are arab, thier ancestors mother-tounge was arabic, and culturally they are raised in an arabic culture, thier religion just happens to be jewish. they are known as sephardic.

but your right i dont understand what your trying to say. explain to me how you can understand their viewpoint that hinduism is also an ethnicity?

Actually according to many census's many Sabras are of Ashkenazi decent not Sephardi. Many Sephardis Immigrated post 1948 Also Sephardis are not neccessaily Arabs they are a mixed bunch who usually consist of Jews not counted as Ashkenazi.

If you look at the numbers, Ashkenazi (european) Jews greatly outnumber Sephardi in Israel.

As for me understanding Indians points about Hinduism being an ethnicity, well it may not be my view but its theirs and I respect that.

Sephardi Jews are not Just Arabs they are Jews that decend from the jews of Spain. Theres nothing Ethnic about being Sephardic. Also the Naming of Sephardis follows a strict pattern. If you find the list of Sphardic people you find their names being distinctly no Arab. This is because they follow a pattern of naming themselves after Spanish or Portugese names.

You didn't read anything I posted. If you had then you would have noticed the bolded sections which showed the Actual Sephardi and ashkenazi Jews. Israel has a population of 3-4 million ashkenazi and 673-725,000 Sephardi. Thats quite a difference there my friend.

Yes the original settlers were Arab/Hebrew but they identify as Spanish as the name list shows you.
