The thin non-hijabi could always put on a hijab. She could put on weight also. So what if you ended up with a fat non-hijabi, huh?
And the fat hijabi could always lose weight. Soooo... I dunno. Tough question.

Ninjas can kill anyone they want! Ninjas cut off heads ALL the time and don't even think twice about it. These guys are so crazy and awesome that they flip out ALL the time. I heard that there was this ninja who was eating at a diner. And when some dude dropped a spoon the ninja killed the whole town. My friend Mark said that he saw a ninja totally uppercut some kid just because the kid opened a window.

"Fat" and "thin" are too ambiguous for me. Both ends of the spectrum are out of shape. A nice healthy balance is what I find desirable.
I do use fitness as a criteria because wrightly or wrongly, people who are over/underweight strike me as lacking discipline.
Eating healthily, making time to work out, taking pride in one's appereance, these things require effort and motivation and those qualities, or lack thereof, spill over into the other areas of a person's life.
Taking care of our bodies is just as much a part of Islam as anything else we're required to do. I don't understand why this isn't emphasized.
Healthy minds and healthy bodies make for a healthy community.

For me, I'd have to choose someone of a compatible size... but a little extra pudge is better than a little too little.
I saw this belly dancer today, she definitely had a little extra going on in the belly region in fact. I think that's the look that belly dancers go for. wasn't bad.
