Usually these guys aren't the funny sort...but this one got a good chuckle from me...he said this joke is in some classical scholar's book, but i forgot the source....anyhoo, here's how it goes:
So an old man is frustrated with his son, who is not really a good Muslim. His son doesn't pray, fast, read any Quran, etc...Anyways, the father is so angry at his rebellious son that he finally decides to take his son to court so an Islamic judge can punish the son.
Unfortunately when he takes him to court, the judge says that he can't punish the son because there is no proof that he doesn't pray, doesn't fast, etc....
So the father says to the judge, "just ask him to recite even one soorah from the Quran, and you'll see that my son doesn't even know a single verse from the Quran, and this will be proof that he doesn't pray, since how can you pray without knowing even a single verse of the Quran"
So the judge asks the son to recite Soorah Fatiha.
The son, after thinking for a bit, starts reciting some Arabic poetry instead of the Quran.
The judge is about to make his ruling, when the father jumps out of his seat, points to his son, and says "That's not fair ! He probably just learned that soorah today!"
