I can believe it. There is a lot more pressure on first-borns. Also, first-borns are like the lab rats of the family, everything gets tested out on them.

Its more likely that the first born is usually pushed harder by his/her parents and comes out on top. In my case I was pushed harder but am the second born and can be considered smarter, alhumdulilah.

people like einstein, galileo, newton, darwin etc. authors a little biased but a cool book nonetheless. it's got like 1/2 a section of just graphs and charts and what not.

I dont believe it. First-borns have to work harder, it's true; our younger siblings casually stroll down the paths of experience that we hacked out for them. But I would say my younger sisters are brainier than I was at their age.

Well, its true in my family.

My sister, the first-born child, is only a year and three months older than me ... skipped two whole grades by the time she was in Grade 10, consistently belted out high SAT scores and stuff, got University scholarships, and even now is studying Pharmacy while handling four young kids.

I was the first-born son and I uh, did alright.

Depends on how you mean smarter. The oldest in the family is acedamically the smartest, but he's mechanically a klutz. I'm the most mechanically inclined in the family but worst acedamically wise.

P.S I won't be getting a PhD anytime soon (or anytime ever), though I might someday build the best skyscraper in the world or something

My dad may have thie highest IQ, and he's the first born, but his brother (the dreaded middle child) has had the most successful and balanced life.
