Can men become pregnant? This was the question raised, and answered in the affirmative, by MalePregnancy.com.

The site documented the case of Mr. Lee Mingwei, supposedly the first man to bear child. Visitors to the site could inspect a variety of documentary evidence about Mr. Mingwei's pregnancy (news reports, pictures, video clips, Mr. Mingwei's EKG). All of the evidence was fake, as were all the claims about him being pregnant.

MalePregnancy.com first appeared online in 1999 but began to receive extensive media attention in 2000. The author of the site was a man named Virgil Wong, who claimed that he intended the site to be a work of art. Of course, many question whether art, if it represents itself as being real, can still be considered art. I suppose it becomes art after you realize it isn't real.

Wong claimed that his site fooled thousands of people and that he was contacted by numerous men seeking to become the next pregnant man.

As for the question of whether a man can become pregnant, the answer is perhaps. It's theoretically possible for a man to bear a child by means of an ectopic pregnancy in which a fertilized egg is implanted in the abdominal cavity. The guy would also have to receive a lot of female hormones. Due to the high risks involved in such a procedure, no one has ever attempted it. However, in 2002 Doctor Chen Huanran in Beijing announced that he was seeking volunteers. And in the mid 1960s Dr. Cecil Jacobson claimed that he successfully engineered a male pregnancy in a baboon. This is the same Dr. Jacobson who was later arrested for impregnating 75 women at his fertility clinic with his own sperm without their knowledge, which may suggest that he has a little bit of a credibility problem.
