Re: when i was a kid...
Aww. Well my bro's have a sweet side. When I was in kindergarten, I had my brother's nasty old hand-me-down backpack and they felt bad that I didn't have a cute one like my neighbor. They didn't have their licenses (neither does my mom) and my dad was at work, so they broke their piggy banks, and together we walked for a few miles, hopped a few fences and walked through people's yards ( ) to Meijer and they bought me the coolest Flinstones backpack there.

Awww, cute.
Any time I have a migraine at home, my youngest brother is adorable. He'll go and find my medicine, bring me water, make sure the room is dark - he'll even make sure that the trash can is nearby in case I feel sick and can't make it to the bathroom in time. Then he'll go around the house making sure everyone is being quiet so that the noise won't disturb me. He also comes to my room to check on me every so often, ask if I'm feeling better or if I want anything to eat. He can be sho shweet. He's pretty much the same way whenever I'm ill.
And then he can be a brat too.

That reminds me of this one time my little brother was so sick, and vomiting through the night. We had guests too, so it was even worse trying to keep quiet and not wake them up. Because the bathroom was kind of down the hall, me and him sort of napped in the hallway on the floor in between his pukings.
My mom was really unhappy in the morning

Re: when i was a kid...
awwww Saja I wish I had older brothers/brothers my age. All my friends who have older brothers are treated like royalty..I have two friends who each have like 4 older brothers and they take them shopping all the time and get them cars and phones n stuff . My mom was the youngest and only girl in the family so she had it good too. I think the only downside to that would be that in some cases they are too overprotective.
Bruinrab: that's so sweet mA . In 2004 when I was 17/18 I went to Pakistan for 2 months in the summer. It was the first time I'd been away from home for so long and my little brother who was about 3/4 at the time took it as a real shock. My parents told me they would find him in the middle of the night sitting outside my bathroom door crying and rocking back and forth, waiting for me to come out. When I spoke to him on the phone he would always ask in his cute little kid voice "aapa when are you coming home?" I miss him, I'm gonna go cry now

Re: when i was a kid...
assalamu alaykum
ok im going to cry now I miss my babies
One time, my brother and sister and I were playing in the living room and we heard our mum scream from the kitchen...so we run in there to see her crying and holding a big ask knife in one hand and a lots of blood on the other. We scream like crazy kids and she shouts ''I cut my hand''. And then we started to cry and wonder what the heck we were gonna do as our dad was out. Then she bursts out laughing uncontrollably and shows us the chicken that she stuck her hand up

Re: when i was a kid...
Once when I was about seven, my family and I went to Jamaica for vacation and while we were there we visited this woman who used to be my older brother's nanny. My brothers and I were playing in the yard with her grandchildren and we were playing hide and seek. I was still hiding when all of a sudden I saw this enormous rotweiler (sp) looking at me...it was a lot bigger than I was.
I started screaming and running round and round the house. I couldn't find my brothers or the woman's grandchildren. I just kept screaming and running and crying and the dog kept chasing me. I finally look up and like the whole neighborhood has gathered around to look and laugh at me and right in front of all the neighbors were my brothers laughing at me . After like 20 minutes of running around the house in circles someone finally came and locked the dog away.

Re: when i was a kid...
when i was little (probably like 4 years old), my brother asked if i wanted a hair cut. i said ok so he got scissors and cut my hair. then he hid the scissors and hair under my bed. *I* got in trouble for this. a few years ago, in the car, my brother was like "Ammi, remember when i cut Zara's hair.....?" and my mom was like "THAT WAS YOU?! "
and then this once, i guess my brother was mad. My mom's dress was hanging up somewhere and he got scissors and goes "shhhh zara dont tell on me" i said i wouldnt tell.the minute he snipped the dress i went and told on him
...apparently my brother really liked scissors

I'm definetly not spoiled, but alhamdulilah they're awesome. And overprotective is an understatement, but I know it's for the best; they don't take advantage of it.
When I was a kid, I thought the moon was following me (I think a lot of kids did). I let my sister convince me that because I ate a watermelon seed, I'd have a pretty garden of watermelons growing in my tummy. And I thought I was a failure at life because I couldn't color in the lines (and still can't sometimes).
Cute quote: "Remember when getting high meant swinging at the playground. When the worst thing you could get from boys were cooties. Race issues were about who ran the fastest. War was only a card game. When the only drug you knew was medicine. The only thing that would hurt you were skinned knees and the only thing that could be broken were your toys. Life was so simple and carefree, but what i remember most was wanting to grow up. And now, all i want is to be a kid again"

Re: when i was a kid...
Yea I also used to think the moon was following me, my grandfather told me it follows good children around
This quote is so ironic and so sad and so true. *sigh*
