Lol. I was just making sure you were paying attention, gosh.  
So Alhumdulilah, I'm really excited and nervous. I just banked enough for rent for the month of July [I already gave the security and rent for June]. MashaAllah. I was sooo scared I wasn't going to make it. So InshaAllah InshaAllah nothing will come up where I would have to use that money.

Phd,  I've been taking the food fliers and circling items. Even though I'm not buying them, circling them gives me a chance to compare to other stores and it also helps me remember the prices for future purchases of those items. So I can be like-- nah these go on sale for such and such cheaper.

You could make lentils(with spices) and rice or just bread. You could make a big batch of soups aswell and freeze it. mmm soup. Same with vegetable salan? Feels weird to say curry

As you see it now, it will not be the same. Different color walls, no rugs, no washer and dryer in the kitchen [like wow  ], etc. etc. I'm so excited, cause it feels like I'm in one of those house make-over shows, trying to fix up a once crappy looking place that has so much potential. 
So yeah. That's it.
PS: I just LOVE the built in bookshelves. My favorite feature of the place.

interesting. I had a washer dryer set in my old kitchen, though they were behing a little sliding door. That was both convenient, and not an eyesore.

Why don't you put a screen in front of them? That way, they're hidden, and still conveniently available. It beats having to lug the laundry to the laundromat.

Bruinrab, the ceilings aren't even that high in the apartment where I could get away with a divider. The apartment is about 25 mins from my rents house...so yeah.

Shadha, they have 4 foot high ones - would that work?
I'm just considering my years out of the house - I would have loved to have a washer/dryer in the apartment during that time. Even having to lug the stuff to the laundry room is a pain (it's almost worst than the cost ). When it's right there, you can do a load whenever you want, however big you want, etc. It's soooo much better.

If you're at your parents house all the time anyway, then maybe it'd be worth it just to sell them (and have someone else move them out  )
But yeh, washers and dryers are gold... and it looks like someone is pretty handy around there, why not have them build a custom cubby for them?
