I feel bad for your poor husband If I were him, I would make you walk it down to the laundremat since you got rid of the ones in the apt.

Re: Moving Out
The yellows I picked out for the place look AMAZING. I LOVE it against the crisp white.

Today is my last day at my rents.
I brought some things over today...he finished up the floors and paint- it looks sooo nice. I'll take more pictures once I get everything sorted out.

Re: Moving Out
Better than that- my landlord is painting my apartment for me. Two different yellows and he doesn't care what I hang up or re-paint etc. He really is being so amazing with this. He called me to tell me he did the bedroom and wasn't sure if I'd like it, so if I can come down and look at it before he continues on. How cool is that?! He's been calling me every few days to update me on what's he's accomplished and what more would I like done. He asked me if I wanted to change out the cabinets in the near future-- ah yeah sounds good to me!
Alhumdulilah I really lucked out with an amazing awesome incredible wonderful landlord. MashaAllah.

Re: Moving Out
How old is he?
Is he aware that your husband won't be there for a while? Does he have a key to your apartment?

Re: Moving Out
Timbit...lol...trust he was like this with my co-workers who previously lived there but they didn't do anything about the place. And he's like in his 40s? 50s? He goes into NY over the weekend, he has other places to attend to during the week. He just keeps his word. Yes, he has a spare key but I also have a privacy lock INSIDE the door.
So anyway- I MOVED IN YESTERDAY!!!! I was so excited. It took me HOURS to unpack JUST the kitchen. The floors were a hot mess from everyone wearing their shoes in to bring the boxes. Finally around 9pm, the kitchen was all clean [cabinets, floors, stove, sink, etc.] and was totally unpacked. I don't know how I'll be decorating the bookshelves in the kitchen but I already got my cabinets nicely organized etc.
We went food shopping last night. Hubster also bought a water filter...yesssssss. I only really like to drink water and sun tea-- both requiring water but I won't drink water unless it's filtered.
And thanks veggies- I'm in LOVE with the yellow, I really am.
I'll take more pictures today.
Rumor has it, I'll have the internet there [my sister was able to get on with her PSP], so we'll see.

Re: Moving Out
Oki so here it is unpacked. There is SO much I need to do but oki
The living room: A lot to be done but oh my god he hooked up a tv It looks so horrible but it's temporary. I love the couch, it's a green and so comfy- I'm thinking of getting a slip thats pure white and wrinkly. The coffee table is also temporary but if you look to the far left, you can see the stairs banister-- the same color wood as that coffee table, so yay. Lol. Maybe I might keep it there, maybe not? Undecided. Will depend largely on the entertainment unit we choose.
The other side of the living room: Again, so much to be done. I'm moving the chest away and where that wall is I'm hoping to put this desk & chair there with this totally cute lamp.
Walking into the kitchen: Need I say so much is left to do?
Turn to the right: I would have preferred if the lace-like feature above the sink was kept white but Allahu Alim. I'm looking to put up display shelves actually above the stove & fridge, but directly above the stove on that wall, I'm going to install a spice rack sort of thing.
Turn to the left: I unpacked all my 'gentles' and placed them in there until I figure out what I want to do with them.
Oki, so that's my place so far.

Re: Moving Out
Oh oh and on the wall of each of the built in book shelves, I'm going to put in a wallpaper [in case you don't know what I mean by that]. For the kitchen, I'm going with a green damask floral wallpaper. Still not sure about the living room. Maybe wallpaper like this for the living room bookshelves? I think I would love this one for the kitchen.
Oh and my mom is going to be painting the lamp shades.
I'm also changing out all the knobs and handles [kitchen & living room].
