My sister is thin and had horrible times with her labors. And I'm sure it isn't because of something being "wrong" with her body. To think that there is an ideal body type for the actual process of giving birth is a messed up idea.
The purpose of birth is to get the baby out of your body and into your life. And eventually, in modern times anyway, the baby is going to come out no matter what your size. It really bugs me when people start assigning values to different types of labor..... no drugs is "good", caesarean is "bad"...... THE ONLY THING THAT IS IMPORTANT IS THE BABY'S HEALTH AND YOUR OWN COMFORT. You don't get an award for having a vaginal, drug-free birth.

I agree with the part you said about people viewing caesarians negatively...as if people have a choice in all cases. My brother was ectopic.
I think another problem is the method of delivery. Giving birth lying on your back isn't "natural". The natural way would be to squat in a field and let it out that way with gravity as your midwife. There's also the phenomenon that newly delivered foetuses can swim quite well in water for several hours after childbirth. In a lot of developing countries, when women are about to give birth they move to the nearest river or stream and give birth there.

I never thought that. I was simply responding to posts in which some said that it's better if you're overweight (than underweight), others said opposite. I simply gave a recount of my sister giving birth and what others said.
The issue was never "perfect" body type anyway; it was a comparison between under- and overweight.

You should!
Obviously, caesareans are painful too though. And there are complications with epidurals and drugs and all that.
But still, some people choose C-sections. Kinda dumb.
Anyway, it's not your weight, I think, but how far apart your hips are. Some people's babies just pop out, without much pain or complications.

Her doctors told her the same thing about it being easier if you're underweight than overweight. It also apparently is better if you're tall and skinny rather than short and skinny, which is probably helped her out.

5,6 is not tall its pretty much average in my books.

that would be wrong. it is healthier to be slightly overweight than slightly underweight.

True
But being skinny is more accepted as "looking better" in Western societies

Re: having a baby while ur skinny
I'm very petite and alhumdulillah nearly in my 4th month of pregnancy. My midwife said that being too skinny or too overweight can cause difficult pregnancy. But i think it's all upto your luck too. Some people have it easy either way. Allah knows best
