Re: Best places to build a stable family and home
chicago
granted traffic to and from the city is horrendous.
but the muslim population here is fantastic, both in the subarbs and in downtown.

The countryside. Preferably on a hill. Keeps you dry during any flooding, and you'll get a good angle if any fuzzies invade.

I've not visited yet, but I hear NYC is very similar to London. People often get London burn-out, similiar to the feelings you're describing about feeling fed-up with living in NY. I understand where you're coming from - bad attitudes, high pollution, non-stop waves of people everywhere can take its toll on you. But that's part of city life.
Think of what you'll be giving up - hustle bustle (moving to a greener area can feel very isolated when you're used to the city), excitement (greener places are pretty to look at, but they tend to be quite boring after the novelty of the scenery has worn off), everything open 24-7 (living outside the city is not as convenient, things are often closed after a certain time).
I love city-life, but when I catch myself feeling the grey concrete slabs, and sour-faced unhelpful people more than the benefits of city-life, I try and get out of the city for a weekend or something, to somewhere pretty and peaceful to recharge my batteries. But after a day or two in the beautiful countryside... I start missing the city. Maybe, regular breaks out of New York to somewhere completely different, with green spaces and friendly people will be better for you, than completely uprooting and moving out to the styx.

Re: Best places to build a stable family and home
pick a city that gives you a lot of opportunities to do whatever you want and also gives you access to a massive amount of Muslims
So that basically means - NYC, Toronto, Houston or Chicago

With the exception of DC, I was going to say those areas too. I also heard Charleston South Carolina is awesome. I want to look into all those spots...but I think it's a bit too Southern for me.
I do love the area where I'm at now. The traffic is beginning to suck major though because for some reason they didn't predict such a enormous population growth, so they built one lane roads and two lane highways.

Re: Best places to build a stable family and home
Yeah, I can't imagine not living in Toronto.
But if I had to move to the States, it'd be to California. Might be nice to get away from the cold. And Bay Area, 'cause I hear it's nice and that there's a strong Muslim community.

Re: Best places to build a stable family and home
Dearborn has a lot yeah, but the other cities I mentioned have the same or more amount of Muslims, but Dearborn doesn't have anywhere near the same opportunities as the other cities do; not even if you include Detroit.
