Do they normally do so? If you can't be sure I'd steer clear of a box that would contain the two as most cats don't like to be sleeping so close together.

yeah there are two that always stick together, I saw them sleeping in there. Keeps them warm. |

Yes, cats can sleep together. If you have a group, you might even get the adorable cat stacking-sleepers.
