Re: Homes & Interior Design
the bigger the house the more you have to clean...so unless you can afford a cleaning service ...big houses arent all they are cracked up to be.

All you need is a dog to eat up all the dropped crumbs, a cat to get rid of rodents, and some spiders to keep the house bug free. The spiderwebs and cobwebs add a decorative touch.

Great idea! But how do I go about doing that? I never heard of such places before.

Just google "unfinished wood" or "unfinished furniture" in your area. Check out some Amish places too. I have some bookshelves that are unfinished wood that are really good quality that I got for pretty cheap. I've had them for years and they still look good and have held up well. Ethan Allen is okay, but their quality has really gone downhill.

Re: Homes & Interior Design
the houses back home in nice areas are off the chart awesome..and HUGE beyond belief. like two normal bedrooms here make one up room over there..and it is a lot to clean except theyve got cheap labor so its all good for them
but the nice area in karachi is like within 5 miles of the coast/seaside. that means the outside of the house gets a lot of sand on it and can make the house look old and dirty within a year of it being built..so people also do a lot of repainting.
any house that requires so much maintenance is not worthwhile imo. but to each their own

If I have a house that big, I assure you I'll have enough dead presidents to hire a maid or two, who'll not only clean the house, but also be a nanny for the kids.
Its a total non-issue.
[Hell, I might even have those ladies double-up as bodyguards and chauffeurs in a pinch]

One of my friend's mom rus a cleaning maid service and her rates are pretty decent, for a 4,000 sf house which will take up to 7 or 8 hours per visit to clean, she charges $160. Even if I had a 7,500 s.f. monster house and the commensurate charge was about $300 for an eight hour job, I wouldn't have problems paying it.
So, if my wife is okay with having a maid around, then I'll give the maid her own room, she can help my wife with the kids, cooking, cleaning, whatever. And if she wants to be like nooni and she noes how to clean her house, then fine - I ain't stoppin' her.

I'll just do what my parents did - have a lotta kids, and a lotta parties and events, all the time. Have friends drop by whenever they want, and hell, desies multiply like freaking rabbits
Loneliness is not going to be an issue.

Re: Homes & Interior Design
I dont know about anyone else, but i'd like to live at reasonably priced apartments..especially at start of my career..and travel at the same time. its inefficient to own a huge house when i wont be able to utilize it at its fullest.(inviting friends and family etc), instead, i'd rather invest in an enormous modern office and a good car. once the kids are a bit older moving into a 2000 sq feet would a good move, until then two bedroom apartment sounds comforting and appealing for newly married couples.iA.

Assalamu Alaikum,
Does she live in Florida? Whenever I see houses like that I think of Florida.
I love Normandy or Victorian style houses

Re: Homes & Interior Design
I couldn't imagine having a big house with brand new furniture and super shiny hardwood floors. I'd feel too nauseated
I'd rather have a nice spacious garage like this one:
