Also, I think Victorian/Gingerbread homes are the only ones that could get away with being funky and/or multiple colors.

hate hate hate hate HATE them.. the style is soooo cookie-cutter, there are no backyards, the rooms are so tiny, and it's so ridiculously overpriced even after the recent price drops. and then there's the association fees and reeeeeally high property taxes and everything... blah!

i'd definitely go for something a little bit older, with a nice big backyard insha'allah. preferably something single story with high ceilings.. and also i'd like to fix it up myself insha'allah. that's what my parents did and its great masha'allah masha'allah. they got a house that's about 40 years old, but they've completely and totally remodeled it. the previous owners came by once and they couldnt even recognize it

Sorry but Wallahi I wouldn't want to live in any of those houses, they are just all over ugly to me. In this case, bigger definitely doesn't mean better.

Toll Brothers simply make nice homes. If you dont like 7,500 s.f. mini-mansions, then go check out their regular sized homes at around 2,000 - 3,000 s.f.

They have plenty of types of homes, including ones you'll like. Their family of websites is extensive, and their main site is massive.

Ehh, I don't know, I took a look at a little over a dozen of them in my state and wasn't impressed by any. I am not a fan of the modern look whatsoever.

I think it would be so lovely to live in a Colonial townhouse like these. Right in town, can walk the streets- of course there's no land but it's still so charming.

There really isn't much to the actual house itself but it's still so hmmm so cute. I can imagine it with a huge blossomed flower garden.



Speaking of gardens, is this not gorgeous? I love Williamsburg.

You go down Mississauga Road and you'll find tons of homes like what I posted, or even larger.

The white upholstery earlier in the thread looks nice, but only for a few months. Then it starts to look worn out really quickly. Unless you banish people from your living room.

But seriously, I want to have a home that people want to come to, where it's ok to be comfortable. I don't want people to feel awkward or avoid visiting because they're constantly afraid of breaking something or getting stuff dirty. I know a lot of people like that - and even family gatherings become stressful for everyone, hosts and guests alike.
