I'm sure most people have a life plan...

so where do babies come into it (if indeed they do at all!) ? Have you planned out when and how many children to bring into the world? For those who have children or about to have them (I'm not enquiring as to whether they were planned or not ) when do you feel is the right time to have children. was it the right time for you - why? How did you figure out when to have them?

well, you have a minimum 9 month wait, rain six?! okay, so, right now? Is it that simple? What about having to fit them in between erm..maturing and enjoying freedom, enjoying ur spouse?

Maturing?! lol. I thought I was mature enough! I understand that it's important to spend time with your spouse before you jump into having kids, my sister always said her daughter changed her life completely and it's great and all, but the commitment it required, i.e., with it being a full-time occupation, she did feel a little distant from her husband for the first few months.

I'm just incredibly broody. I might foster for a while...

Yes, the broodiness I'm beginning to understand, but a tiny sip of reality throws that at the back of my head (how the kid won't sit still, is stuck to ur hip and you can't have a bath without them being there, and even have to think out simple tasks such as going to the bathroom - one friend said she had her on her lap! )

I'm sure you're mature enough masha Allah, i for one am not, though. I'm very selfish and lazy and I like that right now and, er, mr. zzze is still young too

Yeah. Well, a few years after I'm married.
And that's not happening anytime soon. So sometime between 25 and 35-ish, say? Who knows? Allahu Alim.

Anyway... you've seen one, you've seen them all.
I have enough little cousins and stuff. They're cute and all (for about 30 seconds), sure, but they get annoying pretty fast.

So I wouldn't want a screaming baby of my very own right now. Not until I'm responsible and all that...

EDIT: Oh... also, it's kind of a running joke in my family that none of us kids (my siblings and cousins who're in between the ages of 16-22) want kids because we have a gazillion in the family already.

My grandma asked why and my sister said "Well, maybe if our aunts would stop having a kid every two minutes, we'd have time to appreciate babies."
Too much of a good thing and all.

I find it's the people who haven't been around too many babies that like them a lot.

I had a plan to have babies, but I wanted them out of the way by the time I was 27. Since I am 25, there is no time for me to find a guy, get to know him, get married and have a baby. So there will be no little purple aliens.

Babies make me all warm and fuzzy inside. Thats about as far as I've gotten so far

InshaAllah 3-4, our own and adopted. InshaAllah, either by winter of next year or spring of 09 I'd like to become pregnant. I would hope to end my baby making years by 25. Nothing in me wants to have kids after 25, but that's just me.

that's like 4 and a half years of pregnancy

or 54 months.
