Re: Babies!
al hamdoulilah im a regular blood donor, and i also remember laughing my way through for my first donation. Lately Ive witnessed even the big macho guys can puke and faint on the nurses..it has made me somewhat nervous. One day, I was donating at local UCC, and at the same I noticed one of the MSA jocky type brother was also doing the same and then he got really sick and puked and fainted all whole nine yards..He is still suspicious of me as if I am going to spill the beans to other girls, and we'll probably get a good laugh out of it (which i have not nor I will). He was quite embarrased for i dont know what, he has never looked eye to eye again!..
having said that im petrified of FLU SHOTS, they are tiny, but they stink like hell...

Yeaahhhhh... I'm not scared of needles, but, um, childbirth is another matter entirely.

Re: Babies!
Not everybody's the same - and whenever Allah wills it is 'the right time'. You might get to the stage where you start to feel, 'OK, I think I'm ready now' but it might take a while before you have a baby. Or you might not think you were ready at all, and bam! baby's there. Either way, like zakk said, you just have to deal with whatever gets thrown at you, and keep the attitude that whatever happened was meant to happen, so say alhamdulillah and do your best however your life turns out.
Alhamdulillah, I was lucky enough to be able to finish my studies, get a decent job and build up a solid relationship with my husband; sounds like a lot to do, but it doesn't actually take as much time as you would think.

rgh. IVs. my momma HATES: needles, blood, etc. she takes a weekly shot of enbrel for her arthritis and she has to get someone else to do it for her (sometimes i do; i still get this weird tingly feeling sometimes). anyway, she had to go in for minor surgery once so naturally they needed to put in an IV and they tell her to relax and all. she doesn't know how to relax when she's at home let alone going in for surgery, so my older sister told the doc on the sly that he should probably give her a muscle relaxant or something. alternative valium it was. ( ) but she still doesn't relax! instead now she's freaking out about how woozy she feels and she's still tense. so the first try for the IV doesn't work and there's blood everywhere (i told them i could handle staying and watching; i'm alright around this kinda stuff). so there i am telling my mom it's not a big deal that there's blood gushing everywhere and that they're going to make yet another incision for an IV to go it while my dad is freaking out (oh yeah he stayed too...not helping) about how she might die (MINOR surgery, mind you), etc. subhanallah.
i mean i know it was surgery, and it was scary. and there was an IV. and blood. but sometimes people need to take a deeeep breath and just suck it up.
anyway, yeah. i think IVs are cool, but not on the second go around.
