kittens are the best. they adapt to you and listen to you

I LOOOOOVE when my kitties literally look for me around the house, and call on me and stuff....it's adooooorable..cuz it's not like they just want any family member to be around..they want meee

on days i shut them out of my bedroom at nighttime, theyll meow at my door around fajr time..cuz that's when they see the first of us wake up and so if our alarm clock fails, we're saved.

So Im leaving my cat home alone for about a week. There will be no one there from my family, but we've asked someone to come around and let him in and out of the house because he likes going out. I'm hoping he doesn't die or anything because of depression? Anyone have any experience with this?

We went abroad last year and left my cat alone for two weeks. We asked my dad's friend to come regularly and check on him. She also cleaned his water, gave him food, and let him in and out..and stayed with him for a while. He was alright...his sanity was intact when we got back.

It depends on the cat. I think you have a persian cat who, unfortunately, are the most sensitive ones. My neighbor had a persian cat and whenever they had to go away for any period of time, they would leave their cat with us.

Their cat passed away though, when they were busy with their daughter's wedding and didnt give enough attention to it.

So, my suggestion is to give to a family member or neighbor or even a vet. But, dont leave it alone. Hope everything goes well, inshallah.

my cat likes to push things off tables to hear the crash when they fall. yesterday he broke a sugar bowl, I don't know how to break him of this obnoxious habit. I've tried.

So the vet said on several separate occasions that my family's cat wasn't to have any wet catfood because he's got gingivitis

Problem is, he loves that food and it's hard to get him to eat anythign else. SO - we have all been trying to break his addiction to the wet food by only giving him dry food. When he's hungry enough, he does eventually eat it; he doesn't starve. But my dad's convinced he's starving and continued to feed him the unhealthy wet food because he's a pathetic old pushover when it comes to the cat.

Now, lately it seems he hasn't been able to tolerate the wet food because we;ve had a few - erm- 'accidents' in the house We told him it was because of the food. After the last accident my dad promised not to buy that food again. Yet - he bought a whole new box last week because he can't bring himself to ignore the cat's pestering. He panders to that animal's every whim, to the point where it thinks it owns us! Even though we didn't open them, in the end I had to hide the wet food pouches out of sight because if the cat sees them it goes berserk and won't eat the other food.

But I just discovered my dad found the hidden food and for the past 2 days has been secretly feeding them to the cat. Today it puked in the middle of the dining room floor. I'M SO MAD! I was sorely tempted to leave it for my dad to clean up when he gets home but it was too gross for me to handle. I SHOULD NOT BE CLEANING UP CAT CHUNKS IN MY CONDITION I'm going to give him such an earful when he gets home. I've thrown the rest of the food-pouches out. In the trash. I guess I should have done it sooner. I've told my sister, if any of that stuff makes it into the house again, she's to throw it straight out, and keep throwing it out, no matter how many times.

Seriously, if I or one of my sisters had a problem with substance abuse, my dad would totally be the death of us.

if you're consistent, spraying them in the face with water (i have a little spray bottle) when they're "in the act" stops them. it doesn't hurt them, and it's annoying enough that they will eventually stop doing whatever it is that's causing trouble.

Kitten survives trip in shipping crate

CLEVELAND - A scrawny, black and white female kitten apparently survived a trip across the Pacific Ocean and North America inside a shipping crate. Cleveland Animal Protective League Executive Director Sharon Harvey says a Cleveland company that received the crate of spooled steel coil Friday found the kitten inside one the spool.

Harvey says the mother cat and other kittens found in the crate were dead. The crate came to Samsel Supply Co. from Singapore. It was sealed Feb. 4 and shipped three days later.

The approximately 12-week-old kitten was checked by a veterinarian and responded well to being fed. It will be kept in quarantine for about three weeks to make sure it doesn't pass any infectious disease to other animals.

Just a quick update:

My cat is no longer dying (Alhamdulillah) we basically nursed her (the vet is a big fat waste of time and money), shes still very sore and likes to lick her wounds a lot, but she can walk (abeit a little cncomfotably), but compared to a few months ago she is doing good.
S
he still craps and whizzes on the floor but we put the cardboard from packs of water down and she seems to gravitate to those now. She can't manage the litter yet, but soon inshaAllah. We have to bathe her with this special shampoo, the vet wants us to put her to sleep ebcause we basically can't pay for her treatment, so we have decided to nurse her and see how that goes, if she seems to be suffering (which alhamdulillah shes not anymore) we will put her to sleep.

Pray a dua for our cat Lucy.
