Its not surprising.

If you follow the line of thought that says mega-corporations are interested in either securing stability in certain regions of the Earth by force ... or deliberately perpetuating conflict in other areas, all for the sake of their bottom line .. and the USG is just a tool to that end, then it stands to reason that eventually, these corps would want to have their own private forces as well, for the same reasons and purposes.

Time was when governments and nations would go to war to protect their territory, or to protect access to land and resources. Now its just individual corporations doing the same.

Maliki does not give a crap about the Iraqis being shot at. This was all politics. This was a message to Washington showing his dissatisfaction that they are now courting Iyad Allawi.

This is what happens when you "elect" a **** eating monkey into power. That goes for both, Iraq and the US.
