Malaysia's form of shariah is racism
Evidence that Sharia is a new form of Racism « Ali Eteraz
Quote:
Malaysia is a democratic, secure, happy, and secular (sep of mosque & state) nation. Now it is taking a huge major turn towards hardline Islamic Law even though non-Muslim minorities compose 40% of the country.
This is a huge problem pragmatically. It also evinces that Sharia-backers are fans of the system not because it is leads to the greatest happiness for the greatest number, but because they are power-mongering self-promoters who have no interest in the welfare of their non-Muslim neighbors (even if those neighbors have helped make their nation one of the “Asian tigers”).
By the way, the complete and utter bankruptcy of this Sharia system is evidenced from this example here, which, if you know anything about the history of America’s laws towards blacks will make you wince:
Sharia law already operates in some Malaysian states and is occasionally applied to non-Muslims, as in July when Islamic officials forcibly separated a Hindu-Muslim couple with six children after 21 years of marriage.
Until 1967, Virginia would not allow black men to marry white women, and if they did so, they would be forcibly separated. In fact, the aptly named case, Loving v. Virginia, is about precisely that issue. Malaysia — and other Muslim nations that impose Shariah — are recreating the Islamic version of Jim Crow.
Say no to this (un)Islamic Jim Crow.
Forced divorces is the weapon of choice of illiberal islamists. Remember Dr. Zayd in Egypt? Once people called him an apostate he was made to separate from his wife (because under orthodox law an apostate/non-muslim can’t be married to a muslim woman). Saudi Arabia also started a huge crush of forced-divorced.
Sign the anti-forced divorce petition from the Muslimah Writers Alliance (but as you can see, the issue isn’t forced divorces, is it? Its the hyper-supremacism of this brand of Islamism).
