Not only that, but MMA (Mixed Martial Arts, for the uninformed) is more popular than ever. It's gone from being something largely underground to relatively mainstream. I'd say it's probably in the top five major sports in my area at least; Football, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, MMA.
They have a bunch of different leagues; UFC isn't the only one out there. There's also IFL, SFC, PRIDE, Cage Rage and plenty of others. MMA is huge in Japan and parts of Europe, too. EDIT: "parts of Europe" includes the UK. I believe that's where Cage Rage is based out of. Last edited by ShotgunMessiah; 05-15-2008 at 10:44 AM. |

What country were you raised in Victorian England? where the only things women enjoy are drinking tea along with milk and cookies all the while gossipping about each other at a "book club" meeting. Lol at the "natural order of things" is exercise is illegal because it's synonomous with going outside or are you just easily intimidated.
It's butch for a girl to WATCH MMA? hell there are plenty of female MMA fighters in Japan, Europe, and the US. If you don't mind me saying some are quite decent looking and actually put on skillful, intense, and entertaining fights. Quote:
[QUOTE]Wow, so this thing is actually legal and shown on US television? lol. Crazy.QUOTE] It's been legal for the past 15 years, and has been mainstream in the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan since like 2005. where have you been? Last edited by Good_ol_JR; 05-15-2008 at 11:22 AM. Reason: misquote |

Alhumdulilah for the ignore feature.
![]() Revert: In Kickboxing they use head guards and mouthguards but the headguards guard your head not your face. As for the mouth guard, it doesn't really gurd your teeth that much but it helps..not trying to scre you but just trying to give you a relaistic representation of Full Contact sports. Lol, yes I know. I sparred while growing up. But yeah, again, I'm going to hate being hit in my face...and head. I love watching boxing too, but I don't think I'd get into it myself. Shotgun, I LOVE IFL. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. I haven't been able to watch anything due to my conflicting work schedule for months- I do catch it occasionally on the weekends when I'm with the hubster [he has cable] but that's not enough lol. ![]() ![]() shadha-

Yeah, some of us like guns, cars, fishing, and we're not Lesbians either. My best friend growing up used to perform in Rodeo's, and she's the biggest home body around.

Getting hit is overrated, after a while you'll be able to eat a good shot without flinching and you don't have to worry about being KO'd in sparring unless you have a really weak chin, which I doubt you'll have because my sister has been training in boxing since age 11 and has not once been KO'd

You'll get over it after the first few sessions. Boxing is amazing, if you train MMA theres a good chance they'll train you in straight ahead Boxing as well as Kickboxing..it depends on the gym. Quote:

Btw do we really have to go down the route of comparing Mexicans, a people who have their own decently sized country and are taking back the South Western United States, with Kashmiris, a people who are fighting over a parcel of land about the size of the Vatican. If only you Kashmiris had men like Julio Caesar Chavez or Juan Manuel Marquez among your ranks, you would be independent tomorrow. |
