I just want to say something here for anyone reading this. at the very bottom you will notice the name of Liaqat Ali Khan, Hasan Chishti and others. Im very well aware of who they are among the Hyderabadi community here in Chicago. In the photograph pictured below, seated at the podium is a big Hydro businessman by the name of Iftakhar Chouadhry. He is the fat guy in the suit. These big businessman, are nothing more than a bunch of show off's who could care less for the cause of advancing Muslims. They only pump in alot of thier money into these political lectures that they organize simply so that they can show off. Why does iftikhar chaudhry need to be seated at the podium and even give speeches at these things? Do i give a jack about about who he is, or how much money he is making off of his little credit card machines he sells to the petty desi merchants across chicago? N.O.! and this parade here just sickens me. If you really believe in the cause of advancing Muslims of Hyderabad and India in general, you would do it quitely and secretly - not show off so you have people kiss up to you.

I am in a position to present the accountability of twelve generations

Hyderabad, August 18 (Siasat News): Editor of The Siasat Daily Mr. Zahid Ali Khan has said that Majlis leadership present the accountability of only four generations whereas he is in a position to present the same for twelve generations as far as his ancestors are concerned.

He was addressing the NRIs in the Bombay Hall of Chicago, which holds the largest Hyderabadi community in North America. On this occasion, he threw light on the social and political circumstances of India in general and in Hyderabad in particular. He said that a frustrated Majlis has come down to an extent where it has started his character assassination and tarnishing the image. If Majlis would present the accountability of its four generations to the people, it would clear the picture itself.

As far as his ancestors are concerned, the descendants of his family tree way back in 12th generation were invited by then Moghal emperor Aurangzeb to teach Quranic education to emperor’s family. The gathering was well attended by people from all walks of life. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan said that he was compelled to come into the political arena as the Majlis leadership proved a total failure as it is misusing its powers.

If Majlis is not going to mend its ways, Muslims of Hyderabad would also form a political party viz Peoples’ Democratic Front in the lines of the Muslims of Assam who had formed Muslim Democratic Front and would fight election from the 100 constituencies. He said with an element of sadness that to make or to break a community, 50 years are more than enough and this what Majlis has done during the last five decades.

The old city is still reeling without development. The Muslim community is still backward and those youths, who had achieved something extraordinary, it is due to their own efforts and struggles. It has nothing to do with Majlis. He openly said that he was not running the newspaper Siasat as a big investor or industrialist. He has a great responsibility of his people on his shoulder and is answerable to Allah.

Though people have regards for the Majlis of Bahadur Yar Jung but today, the scenario is totally changed and it has become the party of only one family and its monopoly is there for every one to be seen. When a bomb blast took place in Makkah Masjid in May, Majlis leadership failed to get booked even a single police inspector who were involved in firing and killing five innocent people whereas in the firing case of Modigunda where seven people were killed, left parties took adequate action and were succeeded in getting additional SP, an inspector and a sub-inspector suspended and SP was transferred.

Where was Majlis leadership and why did it fail to get even one inspector suspended who was involved in killing innocent people in Makkah Masjid episode? This incident led him to obtain political power for the people. He said that through his newspaper, he is making the people of Hyderabad more mature and whenever, they needed him, he was always there with a helping hand.

As Majlis leasdership is on the papers only and has always kept away from the practical, I made it a point to enter the political arena to give more teeth to our movement. There are various educational activities, which are being run under the aegis of Siasat.

M/s Liyaqat Ali Khan, Shakeel Khan, Dr. Haadi Ali Khan, Hassan Chishti, Khaja Nazimuddin Saleem, Zainul Abedeen and others were also present. The Bombay Hall was packed to its capacity. Mr. Qayyum Khan presented a memento to Mr. Zahid Ali Khan followed by a vote of thanks by Mr. Liyaqat Ali Khan.
