I didn't find his post to be turning it into a competition. Rather, I found it to be a harsh reminder to not forget that there are Isreali innocents in this situation. I personally know many Muslims [heba for etc. lol jk] who constantly choose to overlook this fact and feel that all Israelis are worthy of death because they are all are thirsty for Palestinian blood.

It was harsh and it was in support of past post on the subject where I have advocated that both sides must stop the violence, move from entrenched views and claims of territory, land drenched in blood is of little value.

Well I don't think most reasonable people think Israeli innocents should pay with their blood for the wrongs done to the Palestinians. I don't, you don't, I'm pretty sure the OP doesn't either. But by people immediately bringing up examples of attacks on Israelis in a thread about Israeli extremists, the attempt is being made to
a) justify the extremism of the Israeli settlers who are already in a very powerful position
b) create the illusion of parity between Israelis and Palestinians, when really there is barely any at all

Also, I know you just brought up Hibs as an example, but I think her reaction is kind of understandable. Lest we forget her country was bombed to smithereens by the Israelis last summer. When she was there, aswell.

This is where I think a two-state solution might come in handy.

One state could be for Hamas, the settlers, anyone who want's a winner-take-all-cage-match solution and let them duke it out. Then the other state could be for the cool headed people on both sides who are interested not in whether a jew or muslim is in power, but just want to get on with their lives.

Dubai could send someone over to build an island in the shape of a peace sign just off the shore, and that's where all the undecideds can live.
