In fact, so many western journalists, from reputable news organizations, such as the bbc, cnn, and even abc news, have joined al jazeera because of the freedom they allow thier journalists. its very fair and very balanced news, hardly biased.
Al jazeera english in fact is not even available in north america. however i have found a way to watch al jazeera on your tv.
One can easily buy a 'free to air' dish for only $175 and there are no monthly fee's at all. Im thinking to buy them up at wholesale and start selling it. Im sure they would fly off the shelves like hot cakes just at the ISNA convention alone.

Re: Taliban 'kills S Korean hostage'
I don't have an ounce of pity for these so called hostages.
They went into a MUSLIM country and tried to convert people to Christianity.
Lesson: don't go into muslim countries trying to convert people to your invalid religion.

and if someone takes muslims hostage in the US prison system for spreading Islam and murders them?
(that is assuming that these specific relief workers were actively trying to convert anyone which certainly hasnt been shown)

All that's been proven is that they were Christian. Why let the German hostage go then if they were all engaged in proselityzing? Afghanistan is hardly an Islamic country with Islamic shariah.

That is simply not true. They went there TO convert people. They were so called "Christian Aid workers." Read the BBC's article on this. I think I found a clip of a group of korean missionaries (trying to convert people in a muslim country) on another board if you'd like me to get it...
and I know Afghanistan doesn't have shariah, but the people are very passionate about their faith. Even if it this had been Turkey, I'd have been 100% against it. No Christians in Muslim countries trying to gain converts. Period.
Why should we feel sorry for these pricks?

I would say "May Allah guide them to right path!"
But no pity for them. Look what Allah did to them. They are being killed everywhere. Even when they attack in the so called suicide manner, that is also a wrath of Allah as they commit suicide.

Then you would have no problems if the rest of the non muslim countries in the world created laws that said:
No muslims in non muslim countries will be allowed to gain converts.

Because they came to Afghanistan with the intention to save these people souls from eternal damnation (Christian view, not mine) and they left their nice comfortable homes to risk their lives in crappy Afghanistan for this purpose. Now they not only failed at their goal, but they are also being held hostage, their freedom stolen from them, and there is almost no chance of negotiating their release, so their brutal deaths are almost certain.
Yeah, it was pretty dumb to go to a Muslim country and try and convert people to Christianity, that's true. However, I don't they the really deserve the treatment they've recieved either. I'm sure, being Christian aid workers, they were doing other good things for the people too. I'm sure they were doing other things like teaching basic hygiene, providing books, clothing etc. and those are things that Afghani's need. Where are the Muslim aid groups to help the Afghan people? Where are the Muslims helping these poor people? These poor Afghans need help, and if the only place they can get help is from Christians, should they reject the help on the basis of religion?

Re: Taliban 'kills S Korean hostage'
It wasn't like they came in and just did their work, they came TO preach Christianity.
I don't care that they're from dog-eating Korea. They need to realize that they have no business in Muslim countries.

One of the sahabas went to China to preach Islam. What's wrong if they came to Afghanistan to do the same?

Re: Taliban 'kills S Korean hostage'
Whether they were there legally or illegally is no reason to kill them. Entering a country illegally shouldn't impose a death sentence. Should America kill all the hispanics who enter the country illegally? I understand the hostage who was killed was chosen because he was sick and couldn't keep up with them. An inhumane act in itself. Reports say that the Koreans were there providing medical aid to the needy. When is the last time the Taliban provided medical aid to the needy? Seems they are more interested in growing poppies and making money from drug running and taking hostages illegally. If the government there doesn't stamp out the drug problem, there will be an aids crisis in the country that will be a disaster. Chotoomotoo, you raise some very good points.
