that's what made it so lame. If the only choice is 83... it's like having a presidential election, and your only choice is **** Cheney (aka the Spawn of Satan) You gotta give people variety, that way you can laugh at the poll results when people say you're 12, 50, 75, etc.

That's a good point.
However, I think the point Nazfreak was trying to make was that McCain might want to ally with Pakistan, but he'll be bad for pretty much all other Muslims everywhere else.

And what he's after in Pakistan is upholding whatever he sees as a stable, American friendly gov't... regardless of whether it's good or not for anyone there.

I know McCain hardly has the best interests of the Pakistani people in mind...but he's hardly unique among the candidates in that regard. All of them ideally want to establish (or perhaps impose would be a better word) stable, pro-US governments across the Middle East/Muslim world. The difference is that only Obama feels the need to threaten military strikes every couple weeks.
Unfortunately, I don't really see how any of the other candidates are any more friendly towards Muslims than McCain is. In all likelihood, Obama will be the Democratic nominee, and the man pretty much freaks out if you so much as mention the M word in his presence. I suspect that an Obama administration would actually be quite harsh towards American Muslims, as he'll probably feel the need to distance himself from Islam/Muslims more than any other president, in order to escape the stigma of his pseudo-Islamic background.
It looks like there aren't going to be any particularly appealing options for Muslim voters in the upcoming elections...I'm pretty tempted to just not vote. But if I had to chose, I kinda think McCain would be the lesser of the two evils (provided he doesn't choose Huckabee as his running mate).

Yeh, if anyone is voting solely based on foreign policy that affects Muslims, then one may as well not vote.
Although I must admit I was surprised that more aren't voting for Obama, he seems committed to pulling troops out of Iraq, and even though he talks tough about invading Pakistan, I doubt he'd ever commit some kind of large large cross-border action.

Re: American muslims should vote for John McCain!!!
I read an interview of some retired generals. In their oppinion, the US will never invade Pakistan. Even if Obama's rhetoric seems anti-Pakistan, that rhetoric comming to fruitition is pretty much an impossibility. Pakistan has a real air-force, and a well trained military. While the US would eventually win such a fight, the cost would be enormous. It's the same reason we don't actually do anything about North Korea, even though North Korea really DOES have nuclear weapons (just the idea of nuclear weapons was enough to get senators to support an invasion of Iraq).
No, the US will arm India, and have India invade instead.

If I may be so bold, I think those generals are right, but not in their reasoning. The US won't invade Pakistan at all - i don't think this is what Obama is even suggesting. For one, they're an American ally, and the strikes they're asking for is against areas that are beyond gov't control.
Secondly, the US isn't going to be invading any country in the foreseeable future... not after Iraq.
If for some reason the US did go to war with Pakistan conventionally (like with air battles and all that), a capability gap exists in such a way that the US would easily gain air superiority and Pakistan would cease to have an air force. The reason they aren't going to war with Pakistan is because there are far more economical ways to get what they want.
In NWFP, there have already been American air strikes, from little robots that fly along the Afghan side of border all day. If Obama is talking anything beyond rhetoric, he's talking low key special operations etc.
