This is a good thing for Kosovans right? Freedom from the Serbs. May Allah protect them and grant them smooth transition to independence.

I hate being cynical, but the only thing is, why are the US, UK, and EU so keen to recognise Kosovo?

I've been reading up on Kosovo..i didn't know they are mainly Ethnic Albanians...thats crazy..My Mother in Law is an Ethnic Albanian..I also didn't realise that Islam was the majority religion in Kosovo.

You serious? Dude, whenever Bush and Blair were accused of making the war on Terror a War on Islam, they always brought up Kosovo, and how NATO helped Muslims in that instance.

Well by their action against Serbia they created the situation whereby it was possible

If you wish to be cynical you will consider that Russia supported Serbia and is very much against the formation of Kosova

A new state in Europe is born today. Kosova a new Muslim country in Europe (free from Serbia completely).

A special session of Kosova's parliament has voted to declare independence from Serbia, with thousands of people jamming the streets of Pristina, the main city, for the historic moment.

I congratulate Kosova Albanians, Bosnians and others who live there their new, proud state.

It's funny how Bosnians, Albanians and Kosovans all tell me theirs is the only Islamic state in Europe.

Congratulations to Kosovo (or is it Kosova?). Distancing oneself from the Slavs is something worth waiting for.
