yea i know. it probably was contrived. but aside from whether it was contrived or not, it's not like she's the first person ever to do it. i dont know if candidates have cried before but presidents definitely have.

i just feel like she's trying to play up her being a woman as much as humanly possible to get the female vote. first with her commenting on a "sexist protester," and then with the crying since crying is supposed to be a female/feminine characteristic.

Are you suggesting that she should not have commented on the sexist protester or that she planted him? As for the crying, I don't think that's a positive on the campaign trail. Women are half the population, but it's not a given that all women will vote for her, so she needs to broaden her appeal to win the nomination, so if she was indeed being strategic, it's not a particularly good strategy.

It turns out the two men who interrupted the Senator work for "Toucher and Rich" radio show at WBCN in Boston and were identified as Adolfo Gonzalez and Nick Gemelli ("Intern Nick").
Quote:
The "Iron My Shirt" Incident
On January 7th, 2008, Nick and Adolfo pranked Senator Hillary Clinton during a campaign speech in New Hampshire. In front of a crowd of supporters, Clinton spoke the words, "Some people think they can bring about change..." Upon the word, "change", Nick and Adolfo, stood up with signs reading, "Iron My Shirt" and proceeded to shout the slogan. Clinton then asked her staffers to "turn the lights on...it's so dark..." She then said, "Ah, the remnants of sexism are alive and well," to applause from the crowd, as the men were led away by Clinton's security. Clinton managed to make light of the incident, asking if anyone in the audience had questions, or still wondered how one irons a shirt.
A journalist, Michael McAuliff of the NY Daily News, followed the pranksters from the speech area and found they had "Hillary for President" stickers, causing accusations they were pro-Hillary plants.

ya it may have been staged, but if i was genuine, the only reason then hillary was crying, was because all the polls showed that her campaign was practically over and that she was not going to be president hahaha.
