I think this Barack Obama is Muslim nonsense shouldn't be perpetuated by us Muslims. It's wishful thinking, and sure it would be nice if there was a Muslim in the White House, but we need to be realistic and not live in a dream world. Sure he has a Muslim name, but a person isn't Muslim because of his name, but because of his deen.

The man clearly states he that he is a Christian. The recent trouble he had was with a Christian pastor. I read in the papers here that he was only two years old (a baby in other words) when his parents divorced and split. Only his father was Muslim, not his mother, and even the Muslim father was more of a Muslim agnostic than a believing or practicing Muslim (Allahu Alim). Even if his father was a fully loaded Muslim tableeghi, the lack of contact after the split means he would have had no material impact on Obama's religion.

That said, I really hope Obama becomes the next US President. He's much better for America and the rest of the world than Old Man McCain.

And if the child does not cry after his delivery (i.e. born dead) then his funeral prayer should not be offered, and he will be considered as a miscarriage. Abu Huraira, narrated that the Prophet said, "Every child is born with a true faith (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone) but his parents convert him to Judaism or to Christianity or to Magainism, as an animal delivers a perfect baby animal. i've met people in my lifetime whose names are muslim but they're not. it doesnt matter to me if he is or isn't, i just want him to win cuz i think he'll be bringing something new to the plate.
