I don't get you. The way she talked reminded me of an upper class little girl turning up her nose at a beggar child.

aw that's cute. You can see the difference in their relationship vs the McCain's where Cindy just stands behind him like a silent accessory yet she doesn't really seem important, but Michelle actively participates in interviews/events and Obama frequently refers to her support for him.

While I get that other issues are at the forefront of people's minds, I hope most people do care about other countries getting bombed.

It's an American election with a global consequences. Up here, our economy's so tied into the States', if they sink we sink. We've got a third of our own forces (pretty much the maximum) constantly deployed in support of American missions. Mexico, the Persian Gulf, Central Asia, China... people everywhere have opinions on this because it's directly relevant to their lives.

Anyway, unrelatedly, a quick point about Obama's 'threat' against Pakistan. He didn't say he was open to invading Pakistan. He said essentially that if a high value target presented itself he wouldn't miss the opportunity to go in and deal with it. It sounded to me less threatening than what the US forces in the region are already doing (but not really talking about)

If anything, he's more of a threat to Muslim nations than mccain seemed. Though, I dont endorse either... nor do I see the benefit in voting in America to begin with. .

That's only part of the story. Susan Rice, his chief foreign policy advisor, said that Obama approved of what Bush is doing in Pakistan with the raids and incursions and missile strikes inside Pakistan but that they are "baby steps" in the right direction. In other words, he wants plenty more of these attacks inside Pakistan which could very well result in battles between Pakistani and American forces.

Your quote seems to be suggesting that he would authorize attacks with extreme discretion while his own words and his own policy advisor's words suggest the exact opposite - that he would want even more constant attacks against non-high level targets (unless there are hundreds of "Generals" hiding in Pakistan). It's far far more threatening to the sovereignty of the state of Pakistan and to the lives of the civilians in Pakistan than anything Bush has done so far with regards to Pakistan.

Quote:

Hardly. Lesser indicates that there were only two options - there were far more (including actual socialists). You could have had tax cuts for the middle class, NO war, evenhandedness in foreign policy (Israel/Palestine, etc.), a massive investment into renewables, etc. You didn't have to compromise on any of these issues.
