Nope, I'm not going to delude myself and say I do.
I do know that was the day of a long standing Pagan Holy day.

Good for you... that's the day they celebrate it on. It has nothing to do with you so don't worry about it.

When they do stupid stuff stuff like this it affects me.
Its one thing to be stupid, its another thing to act upon that stupidity.

When they do 'stupid stuff' like believe what they believe and celebrate their holidays? It doesn't surprise me that you say that, because you're a little ball of rage.

Yeah, so anyway, I'm not surprised but I am bothered. I have always greatly favored the Separation of Church and State, one of the mighty great qualities of this nation. Though, it now seems as the percentage of non-practicing or converting Christians worldwide is quickly increasing, for obvious reasons, I'm not surprised that they would feel so threatened and desperate to find a way to skirt around, or just blatantly ignore, the Sep. Church & State.

Actually the number of practicing christians worldwide is increasing very rapidly, especially membership in certain evangelical churches (pentecostal is the most impressive). Africa is ground zero for this, but south america and the United States and even Europe are all seeing a major revival of christianity plus the birth of new christian denominations

Re: Americans..Do Government BIlls like this bother you?
Africa is ground-zero only because the Christians are abusing the opportunity to increase their numbers by relying on those in desperate need. This for that. Sure it still counts towards their percentage, but to me it's practically cheating and totally playing dirty.
I have yet to hear any account on the increase of Christians in US, Europe and elsewhere, you have any stats on hand? What I did hear about is the increase of younger practicing Christians, though as you have stated, I believe I recall them being evangelical.

Yeh the thing with the ones in Latin America is that they are already Christian... but the Evangelicals are taking over 'market share' from the Catholics. Here's a shabby Evangelical church in Guatemala that was across the street from one of my schools...
They are THE most annoying people on Earth and I would have liked to rip the cords out of their speakers they had on full blast all day and run away. I'd also like to kick John Haggee in the nuts.

I don't think you'll find accurate numbers, census level details on these figures are notoriously difficult to find.
But I can tell you that there are a lot of people who have grown up calling themselves Christian, and realized they really aren't. Aside from cultural elements, there's a large group of people who haven't found what they were looking for in organized religion and are kind of in a holding pattern. I don't think it could be labeled categorically as 'New Age' exactly, I always associate that with incense and crystal balls. But there is definitely a major shift taking place.

It really depends on their intention. In this case, you're reading too deep into it. Quite honestly, someone could have just been caught up in the Christmas mood.
Heres another resolution. This one was passed by acclamation:
S. Res. 133 [108th]: A resolution condemning bigotry and violence against Arab Americans, Muslim Americans, South-Asian Americans, and Sikh Americans (GovTrack.us)

what will be interesting (or would be interesting. . .) would be if and/or when the Christians of Africa begin to develop more distinctly African forms/expressions of Christianity rather than traditions so entrenched in "western influences."

But they have... there's been Christianity in Africa as long as it's been in the West. And sub-Saharan Africa definitely has it's own flavours.
