Not one candidate (who stands a chance of actually winning) looks promising. This clown is just as belligerent as Bush and his crew and is clearly willing to do anything to get votes. He's also been sucking up hard to Israel and AIPAC in the past few weeks.

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I think I read in another thread that he had converted to Christianity, so I don't know if that has something to do with it.

But yeah, even if we take Muslim brotherhood out of the equation, given the mess made in Iraq, and the Pakistani government's excessive compliance towards the Bush administration, it's completely irrational to want to attack Pakistan.

It's also a bad move from a military point of view aswell, in my opinion. The US military is severely struggling to maintain any semblance of order in Iraq - and Pakistan (even the general populace) is much better armed than Iraq, the terrain is much more difficult than Iraq, and Pakistan (unlike Iraq) does have weapons of mass destruction. I don't think any US administration would see it as a viable option.

He sounds like he just wants to gain publicity. Mumbling the same mumbo-jumbo nonsense we've been hearing for the past few months. Isn't this the same guy there was hype about because he was Muslim or had Muslim roots?

Nothing new here to be honest. The current Bush administration is employing similar strategy with regards to Pakistan, and have already launched attacks on Pakistani soil. The only difference is that Obama would admit to it.

It's just a way to shift the blame onto another country really - I've already mentioned how phony America's war on terror is. They've got 150,000 soldiers in Iraq, and 5,000 soldiers in Afghanistan. If they were serious about fighting terrorism it would be the other way around.

Politicians might change their tune on starting foreign wars now that the public is painfully aware how funeling money to Iraq has killed our budget for replacing such important things as ageing bridges. For what we spend every day in Iraq we can replace all the ageing bridges in the USA, we could have the best transport system in the world... if we didn't waste the money on foreign wars.

Great idea. I'd like to suggest bombing the entire Gulf, and maybe Syria, too? Hope they draft all their troops out. It's easier to attack the enemy in one's own land, where one is accustomed to the environment and the cool secret hideouts. Woohoo!

On a serious note, this guy should learn to put his shoe where his mouth is.

yeah but if they bomb those places there wouldnt be any enemies to fight, just bombs and cruise missiles falling on everybody's head and destroying everything...

dont know why you would advocate the destruction of your own country, but iA its not gonna happen because of oil and because most of those countries are already american allies and/or vassals

Surprised you didn't pick up the sarcasm, even though your posts are usually filled with that.

Our countries will not be destructed by the leveling of man-made cities. What others destroy we can build and re-build. But faith and dignity once lost is hard to re-build again.

I sincerely pray for what is best to happen, and if it means a confrontation, then be it. If a confrontation can teach the war-lovers to wage peace instead, then my country is a cheap price to pay. We can and will rebuild it.

i did pick up on the sarcasm, but i thought it was worthwhile to make the comments that i made anyway

in any case, you are right that sometimes wars are necessary, but in general people use this argument to justify their own countries attacking others, not having their country destroyed in a war. Its not a good thing to go through, alot of people are killed and hurt, and often societies never fully recover. There are parts of the world that still havent recovered from wars fought many centuries ago. That isnt a process i would ever wish on my country or anyone else's, but to each their own
