AICC salutes overseas Indians

New Delhi, November 17: The ruling Congress party Saturday lauded the 'hard work and toil' of millions of Indian workers in West Asia, who have been a major source of remittances to their families in India.
In its omnibus resolution, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) session also congratulated the 'initiatives' by the ministry of overseas Indian affairs for the welfare of the Indian workers in West Asia.
'The AICC salutes the hard work and toil of lakhs (hundreds of thousand) of Indian workers in West Asia who have earned a name for themselves by their diligence and who are a major source of remittances to their families in India which helps in the growth of our economy.'
The party resolution also applauded the 'outstanding achievements' of Indian scientists, doctors, engineers and other professionals abroad, including in the US, Britain and Germany.
It appreciated Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's personal efforts to 'build a new economic and strategic relationship with countries of West Asia'.
