Default Anger..

..is disgusting.

I couldn't control it last night.

I feel so angry at everything lately.

It's gotten so bad that I actually feel like hurting some people really really really bad.

And I think I lost one of my closest friends who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Help me?

As salaam u alaikum,

Firslty try and pray after zoning out if you can and do your wudhu everytime your angered as it washes your sins and calms the body down.

Secondly step back and look at your life from otehr peoples perspective or even from a birdseye view i sound like a nutcase but it does work when you see the whole picture.

Thirdly remember and keep in mind tha you are aware of your anger so when you start talking in a sharp voive or something make an intentional decision to lower your voice and soften it.

Fourthly apologise to your friend and give her a detailed account on why you said something liek you did or why you did what you did. I find that its not what your saying that will hurt someone as much as how you say it. Dont change what you said coz its said now, thats in teh past but repeat it in a more understandable tone and that your there for them even if they are straying.

Inshallah i hope this helps if i havent got the wrong end of the stick

O and lastly go out and have some fun once youve made up so that you both relax and laugh

Walaikum as salaam
Sabz

Make a conscious effort to make wudu. Yea and pray more. Insha Allah if you make the effort, Allah will provide the results

Everyone above gave good advice, I'd try that out if I were you. Being in a state of wudu 24/7 is good anyway, but it especially helps with anger. Also, as the hadith states, if you are standing, sit down. And if you are sitting, then lay down.

When we are angry shaytaan runs through our veins, that is why oftentimes we feel like our blood is "boiling," and if you have enough control over your thoughts, reminding yourself of that would probably be enough.

Try reading durood all day long and maing istaghfar constantly. Shaytaan is annoying and always finds one way or another to get to you(he promised Allah to come at us from the front sides and back) Before I started wearing hijab and turning more towards the deen, I never had a temper. I was the most calm person, and I can only remember being angry two times in my entire life. After I got more "religious" I noticed I became very short tempered. Anger is really nothing more than a disease of the heart, and its a weapon that shaytaan uses against us when he wants to just completely destroy us in one shot.

Also, exercise helps to control anger.

As far as your friend is concerned, do something sweet for her. Send her flowers and write a nice apology in the card, or buy her a gift. You can also bake her a cake, and dye white icing yellow and make the cake a big sad face haha. When all else fails, just act cute and people will forgive u haha.

Do physical activities like running or weight lifting or jump roping. It'll help you de-stress very well.

Make sure you do it outside the house. You might break something inside

Sabz
I normally go very silent when I'm angry instead of shouting. Sometimes I mutter things which is stupid because I hate when people mutter.

Yesterday my sister was like what the hell is wrong with you, go do your wudhu. So then I got even more mad. But yeah inshAllah.

I can't act cute so I fail there. But I think something similar is happening to me ^. I've never been an angry person. But recently I've been getting cheesed off over the most stupid things. This morning I was so mad because people kept calling and I was reading a book so I just refused to pick the phone up.

Or like punching people. That would help too.

When you start to get angry, take deep breaths and try to think about what it is exactly that is making you angry. If it's something that you can control, then control it. If you're getting angry because of something that you cannot control, take more breaths and tell yourself that it's just as stupid to get angry about the uncontrollable as it is to blame yourself about them.
