Default Imam Suhaib, the American, the Shaykh, and the bag of sweets

Imam Suhaib Webb wanted to introduce a fellow American to a big scholar at Al-Azhar. When the Shaykh arrived, he brought a bag of sweets with him. He refused to be introduced as "shaykh" and also refused to lead the prayer due to his profound modesty.

Later, Imam Suhaib Webb and the American tried to give a bag of sweets for the shaykh.

The Sheikh was taken aback and said, “What is this?”

Imam Suhaib said, “This is a gift from us to you.”

He said no and politely said he couldn’t accept it.

Imam Suhaib stated to him, “Please sheikh accepting a gift is from the Sunna. Please Sheikh! Please! It will make us happy!”

He grabbed Imam Suhaib and said (in Ammiyah Masriyaah so the student wouldn’t understand him), “Suhaib, I don’t have a refrigerator. I eat what I buy and store nothing!”

Jaysh, you suck at summarizing things. I had to read the original to figure out what the heck you meant.

Be just akhi, that story was decent and is a solid reminder of the humility and simplicity of mu'mins.

Thanks for posting it Jaysh.

That's because you are not a good Muslim. Why don't you go and drink some alcohol and then go clubbing afterwards...since that's what you do most Saturday nights right?

A) YOU of all people are in no place to judge who is a good muslim and who isnt.
B) You dont know me nor what I do.
C) You are obviously insecure and a jealous person who cannot deal with people disagreeing with you.
