Anger Issues

Ok so today I kinda got into it with a female at my job...I tried to be as professional as possible not to mention the fact that I was kind'a put off by the whole thing because I dont feel like Im confrontational But I felt like hitting this girl in her face..Heres what happened

There is a binder we sign in and out of at work---she (co-worker) and her 2 friends were in front me, when it was her turn to sign she decided to calculate all the over-time she had for the week (we are not suppose to wait till the end of the week to sign for days previously worked) So Im standing there quietly waiting as she is counting hours in her head for more then 5 minutes Finally I nicely ask "Im sorry, but can I sign out real quick" she basically refuses me with an attitude and then talks crap about it afterward to her friends while Im around...I got so mad that I said out loud "shut up" and she pretty much kept talking crap to her friends about it till we got out the freakin building


This female was completely unprofessional and immature (I admit my shut up was bad but I was taking alot from her to begin with), Im still angry about it and a part of me feels like I should have hit her even though I do want to be mature and professional....Please, any advise would be appreciated

Sea_of_Roses: She's a loser, ignore her. Hitting her would probably only result in you looking bad, your boss hasn't heard her b*tchy comments so ya.

What you could do is accidentally on purpose spill something on her shirt....something that will stain....

I used to be quiet and timid. I could be angry, I could be enraged, but I would never show it. Just a few years ago, I finally snapped at someone on the internet and it seems the quiet and timid me was gone forever and I finally started saying exactly what I thought rather than hide behind niceties.

Although, now, I wish more than ever that the timid and quiet me would come back.

I actually HIT my father once in anger. A kick! It was very weak, but it was more the thought that I HIT him rather than how much damage I caused. It was a pathetic move I still feel very guilty over.

The way I am now, I treat people like they're no longer human on the internet. I'm certain if the same things happened in real life, I'd be much less likely to yell the things I type on the internet.

Now I'm only quiet around my mother and father, especially my mother (NOT my biological mother, my step-mother. Though I'm still quieter than I should be around HER as well...). But the reason for that is fear rather than respect. I want to change that, I really do.

Insha Allah, I'll improve.

As painful as it was keeping everything bottled up inside of me, I want to return to being timid and quiet. I want my patience back! I want to be more or less a little punching bag who never complains. Anything's better than THIS.

Sea_of_Roses, wow. ^^;;; I don't blame you for snapping, but the hitting, in retrospect, probably did you more harm than her.

Of course, you probably shouldn't be listening to the heartless girl who hit her father and is probably going to burn in Jahanam for it. TT-TT

I think you did overreact and should have just continued to politely explain that you need to run and since she was counting her minutes for the week (which she shouldnt have been), it would be easier for you to just sign out. Even if she did resort to making faces at you or even talking about you in an unfit manner in regards to you, you should have just walked out. Maybe you could have told your superior about what occurred and why you were not able to sigh out.

Making wudu is always a great solution as someone already stated.

Ermm, I could never have the guts to do anything like that. Wow, Im still shocked.

No nothing offended me, I actually agree with you.

its hard because I havent had to deal with crap like that in a while and I actually was pissed off that I didnt react more aggresively to her, like I was upset that I didnt really give it to her which I know is bad cuz Im like 23 and we were at work, unfortunately I grew up in a rough area and I have had actual fist fights before I know that sounds crazy but that was reality so thats why it was hard for me to keep hearing her talk crap without me saying anything back (except fot the shut up but this girl continued on and on after that and I just stood shut looking at her)...I have decided to report the whole incident to a supervisor later this week because I dont want her to think she can treat people like that and I dont want to have this grudge
